A new/old start to an Empire army!
« on: May 26, 2018, 01:16:20 PM »
Hello!

I've been away from painting for quite some time, but I've recently gotten back into the hobby. This is both a new and an old project. Some of the models have been painted almost 10 years ago, while some have just been finished :) I'll be touching up old models as I go, even if it's something I find dreadfully boring.

Apologies in advance for the poor pictures. I'll get some better ones taken eventually!

Thanks for looking and please leave comments and critique. It keeps me going and helps alot with inspiration! :)

Steam Tank
The trusty old steam tank. Tank painted in the 90s. Engineer finished March 2018

Heavens Wizard

Engineer on foot
Base needs some flock. Otherwise this dude is pretty much done!

Pistoliers
Painted back in 2010. Going to touch up the horses for sure! They're a bit flat.

Halflings
Used as militia in T9A. Movement tray is obviously not done :)

Objective marker
Objective marker for T9A. Based/colored to match my Beastmen army.

Flagellant
Color test for an upcoming unit of flagellants

Voland's Venators
Rebasing and touching up these guys. Old Dogs of War being used as Empire Knights

Wow!
Nice to see you back at it. I took quite a few years off as well. It’s this forum that put me back on my hobby feet. Such talent as yours should not be kept on the shelves (or in boxes).

Enjoy seeing this. Not too bad photos either. Good use of characterful models.  :-)

Great job on those minis. Always good to see Voland. I can imagine that flagellant hitting some home runs with that bat :eusa_clap:

Well painted. Nice to see some detailed bases. I also like the scheme on the flaggie - its a subtle color but in the midst of a very colorful empire army I think it will stand out nicely.

Thanks so much for all the replies! Appreciate it a bunch  :::cheers::: I'll keep plugging away at it and make sure to keep this post updated :)

Thanks Søren! The idea is to use primarily muted colors on the flagellants, but add some colors in their accessories like books etc

That guy desperatly needs a laptop in a small backpack....

Well executed model sofar. I bet though he is ugly as hell since we are not allowed to see his face.  :engel:

I posted a picture in the first post. He's the bearded dude with a big stick and tired look on his face. He's been up for far too long writing and collecting erotic Sigmar fanfiction :D

I agree! I'm not too big a fan of the others, but I have a bunch of them and they hold a certain nostalgic value ;) I'll combine them with some 6th ed metal flagellants and maybe some 7th ed plastic ones, though I don't have any plastic ones at hand currently :)

Sweet stuff! Love the Venators and the Halflings deserve a more in focus shot one day  :icon_wink:.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. It's very much appreciated  :::cheers:::

Havent had a lot of time for hobby stuff lately, but I've churned out a unit of 8 handgunners. They turned out OK in my opinion

Also finished a runepriest for a pet project of mine. Happy with how he turned out. Next in line is the orc warlord. Very pleased with him so far, and there is not much left to be done :D

I also got to take some pictures of my beastmen army while tidying up my warhamz. Couldn't resist lining them up against my Empire (who are sadly overwhelmed at the time being!) :)

Thank you! I think the models are really cool, but the horses are uninspiring to paint to say the least :)
