To all the X-philes here, how is the 10th season overall? I'm watching all the old ones like crazy, but have heard that the new one is a mixed bag. True or false?

I've seen the first three episodes. The first was fairly awful, but the second and third were quite good!

I liked Revenge. I think that's classified as a Woman's show.

If it's the one I'm thinking of (?Elizabeth Clarke, dad went to prison for blowing up a plane he didnt do or something) my wife watched it (and by default so did I) and it was quite good up until the last series and I think the reason was that they thought they were going to get cancelled, wrapped it up nicely and then got green-lighted another series and it felt a little tacked-on.

Anyone here watch Broklyn nine-nine? I love that show. Captain Holt is the best and actually there's not a single character I dislike which is fairly unusual for most tv shows.

Depends on how one defines it as being a "woman's" show or a "soap opera".

From my perspective, neither is an accurate reflection of the program.  It is a fictional story wrapped in a real world time period of history, which attempts to include the aspects of English society at the time.  It is about family, class, the adaption of such to the changing times.  In a way it is historical fiction.
Isn't it just Upstairs, Downstairs in the country?
My understanding is that they are similar, yet haven't seen Upstairs, Downstairs.

Downton Abbey is in it's 5th and final season.  To be honest, I'm not particularly thrilled with the current season.  It has been relatively dull, and too much focus on closing out the story lines, to the point where it almost seems forced in places.  Some of the acting has been less than stellar this season as well, including little chemistry between the oldest daughter and her most recent suitor, plus the deceased youngest sister's husband seeming to try a bit much in getting the two of them together.  Also, the in fighting between the two remaining sisters seems a bit much compared to previous seasons, not that it didn't exist, just not has heavy.  There's only an episode or two remaining, and I hope the remaining shows are at least ok.

Right now I'm really just watching Vikings and Death In Paradise on tv. I'm working my way through the sci fi show The Expanse and it's not to bad, but hasn't really hooked me yet. I was told it was Firefly meets Game of Thrones in space, and I cannot disagree more. It's a decent sci fi, but it is not like those at all.

Am I the only one that thinks Ragnar would be better with his season 1 Haircut? Who else was happy to see little Boneless out and about?

Absolutely.  Although you can see Bjorn haircut starting to turn into the braid.

I like both of their season one haircuts, the older Bjorn's first haircut was good like a weird fade?

Thanks Gneisenau, but truth be told, I've found it somwhere on the X-Files FB fanpage. Found it rather funny and appropriate. :-P

@ redshift
That's the one, and I agree too. Only half a season of content left there at the end. Not much more to tell, and stretched out too long and slightly unsatisfying. But overall was decent IMO.

I recently finished watching Jessica Jones on netflix. I'm not normally that keen on superhero things, but this was really good (and quite light on superpowers).

David Tennant was astonishing as the villain.

I think I'll watch the Strain. It's supposed to be a good horror show.

I'm watching Marco Polo (Netflix original).

Anyone else watching it.
The foot binding scene keeps playing my head all day today, and makes me feel angry and sick.

we watched it here and loved it. Got it's own pro's and cons but Kublai khan is amazing. Marco is the only actor I'm not crazy about, all the various Asian actors are gold in that.

Kublai is excellent. Makes the show great.
I feel like answering people with a grunt/growl now too.
First episode was a bit stiff. Episode 2 sold me on it - with kublai's brother.

Watched two episodes last week and like it quite a bit so far. Hope to find some time to watch more soon.

We've watched six episodes now, and we've called out allusions to or inspiration from just about every movie from the period it's set in ('80s.) I love the obvious posters hanging in the backgrounds at some of the houses -- The Thing, Evil Dead, etc. Enjoying the show quite a bit. More than anything else in a while. Looking forward to the last few episodes, but I also don't want it the season/series to end.
