Thought I would start this topic also for Underworlds with the new reveals from the LVO

I'm a fan of underworld, but not generally a fan of Nurgle stuff. Still, these are really well played.

That paint scheme is horrible. It might work for the World of 40K, but with fantasy, it ain't doing it for me.
-
The new season of Underworlds are coming and they've previewed the two teams. A Lumineth and Slaany team.

I think I actually quite like them. The Elf team at least. Hammer elf is getting a head swap, mage and swordmaster are nice, archer I'm lore lukewarm on. The chaos beastman freaks me out, but in a good way I guess?

New Warband for Underworlds.

OK, for once I have to say something nice. I'm not a Chaos guy, but these Chaos Warriors for Underworld are probably the best proportioned standard Chaos Warriors (on foot) in Warhammer history. Still bulky, still with oversized weapons, but within acceptable boundaries.
-
Ah, I see GW is still selling figures. For a moment I thought they'd turned to the clothing business. :icon_wink:

In general, their chaos have been very good
-
I do like those, much more along the vein of the kind of Chaos army I'd like to grow.
-
I dont even like Chaos but I think they look phenomenal. That kit is pretty much single handedly (Single kitedly?) bring back some old chaos friends back into the hobby.
-
Apparently those Chaos figures for Underworld aren't quite out yet. I will be picking a set of them up once they are.
-
I mean, the Underworlds Chaos Warriors match the ones in the Slaves to Darkness Start Collecting.

New Underworlds warband. First Seraphon models we’ve gotten since they became Seraphon, I believe. The release schedule teases possible Vampires next, then Spiderfang, Bonereapers and Deepkin.

The legs on the chameleon skin, while accurate, freak me out a bit. But the rest of them I really like! They'll fit into my existing lizard force with no issue.
-
I like em!
Can’t wait for spiderfang

New Seraphon models for Underworlds, the first released for them since they became Seraphon, I believe.
Word on the street is that a Soulblight Vampire warband will be next:

With Spiderfang Grots, Ossiarch Bonereapers, and Idoneth Deepkin next up.

Those do look good! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::
-
Huh, could have sworn I responded to this. Anyways, I like the set quite a lot. They'll fit in great with my existing lizard force. The Chameleon skins legs freak me out, rightly I feel, but its a neat looking design.
-
Ohhh, that's wild, it's a completely different lower leg than the existing Chameleon Skinks. The hands have 3 fingers instead of 4, as well. It's more true to an actual Chameleon but less anthro:

First look at the new Vampire team for underworlds, just showing the team leader.

What is Underworlds like as a game :icon_question:
-
Fairly quick, almost gladiator style combat but with some objectives. I haven't tried it myself, only seen it played, but it looks fun.
-
And since it was mentioned in the Beastgrave thread that it has the same rules, think I'll pick it up from that direction. Thanks! :::cheers:::

Looks like release timeline for new warbands is as follows:
Feb ... Chaos as shown above
March ... Lizard band
Apr ... Vampires
May ... Orcs
But wondering what this "Direchasm" label on the Chaos warband is ...
-
Ah! I see ... it's another starter set, and this one has high elfs and slaanesh chaos.
-
Direchasm is just like the 'seasons' expansion thing we were talking about with Beastgrave.
So the game is Underworlds. The first season was Shadespire, then Beastgrave and now Direchasm.
I continue to really like these chaos models, and I generally really don't like chaos.
-
The new savage orc warband is getting previewed for Direchasm/Underworlds.
the Warhammer Underworlds warband for May is Savage Orruks! Meet Toofdagga, one of the boyz from Hedkrakka’s Madmob.

The link includes a little bit about their playstyle and cards they can use if you want a bit more about the mechanics.

and a hint at one of the other members.

He's a beefy boy but I do really like the look of that orc. If the warband is similar to the other orc warbands then I expect it'll be 3 models, one of which seems likely to be a shaman.

Hmm wonder if that means they'll come out more Nobz size then so not integrate well into square based old Savage orc regiments. I mean the one pictured looks good and I like making front ranks diverse and interesting just been leery on the scale.
-
I don't have any of the new orrucks, but from seeing them they look significantly bigger then old orcs. Easily nob size. The other ones are all very bulky from the armor, so this guy kind of looks slim compared to them, but I don't know how well they'd fit in a unit. As a savage orc chieftain however, I think they'd be the right size.
-
I think he'd look better in a darker paint scheme.
-
The full savage Orc Warband is revealed!

Preview of another coming Underworlds Warband. The Ossiarch Bone boys are getting a warband let by this fellow, called an executioner.

-
Looks like a Necron, maybe for Blackstone fortress! :icon_wink: :icon_lol:
:engel:
-
The important thing for me is it fits the ascetic of the rest of that factions range. They all look vaguely like necrons mixed with tomb kings, so its a good sign that Gdubs is not getting to crazy but actually on point.
Whether people like that ascetic in the first place is totally separate of course. But depending on how the rest of the warband looks I think this one and the vampire one I'll pick up first from this seasons releases.
-
Looking good!
-
GW seems to have been making improvements in what they are doing. Suspect they're crossing the look so that 40K folks will buy for conversion purposes. The idea that these look like Tomb Kings kind of goes with the fluff to a degree, and the cross into Necrons is an easy jump.
-
The cross over idea is a good angle, I can really see that.
-
A new starter set is being released. It will contain Storm
crudcast Eternals and Undead warbands.
-
Posted this in AoS chan because it gets more traffic, but for completionist sake here's the new Deepkin warband.

-
Yep, somebody will enjoy having that war band.
-
Its a big preview today. I don't care as much about the new chaos forces for the new warcry starter set, but there is an underworlds warband I like the look at. Witch Hunters!
-
Agreed. Awesome models!
-
Big hope that they keep this going with more cities of sigmar focused stuff. But also dogs! Bring all the dogs!
-
Very cool models. Definitely going to pick these up.
-
Yes please let's be 'avin you!
I've got a nice band of Witch Hunters in the (admittedly never ceaseless) pipeline including the Mordheim band, the bloke from the Cursed City set and the other fella with his crossbow daughter.
These will do just nicely :biggriin:
Also *woof!
-
Those look awesome! I will be buying a set of these asap. :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool: :::cheers:::
-
I like the look of these dudes.

-
Sort of reminds me of the Cursed City skeletons, although not exactly the same look.
-

I like the skellies too, definitely modelled the same as the cursed city and new boxed skellies.
I also like the chaos shaman guy, he looks more like an Amber wizard than the Amber wizard model did :-P

That's just what I was thinking!
Great models.

That group of figures looks like they're out for a D&D adventure. :icon_cool:
