Resistance is Futile GP! Or at least that's what the Borg say. I agree initial terrain was much better. I liked the units more because they fit with the armies I currently play, where as I don't have a ton of interest in Marines and I'm happy with my Tau.

New kill team box set ... Marines and Necrons ...

Think they skipped on fancy terrain on this boxed set though.  I prefer the previous two boxed starter sets.

Going to pin this thread to the top so it is easy to find.

And then ... heading for a local hobby store to hopefully buy the Kill Team 2019 Starter Set (Space Wolfs vs. Tau plus cool terrain pieces too) before these get too hard to find and too pricey to buy.

Updated the thread title to match :)

Hey folks ... don't forget ... if I recall, GW is releasing the newest Kill Team Starter set very soon, last weekend in in February 2021!

That means if you want the Space Wolf vs. Tau starter set, complete with the cool and a ton of terrain that is currently available, now is the time to get it before it disappears.  I got mine several weeks back, and the terrain isn't just good, there's plenty of it.

Looks like the new set is going to be a bit pricey for what is in side of it, and although still a deal, probably only when one takes into consideration the Necron terrain pieces that will be available with this newest starter set.  Oh, and the figures are a Space marine commander dude, 5 intercessors, a Necron commander dude, and 5 Necron flayers ... see Gankom's post further back on this thread.

A "heads up" on accuracy of what is in the new Killteam terrain sets being release ...

Back on 2/23/2021 ... Warhammer Community showed an article regarding the "return of classic" Killteam terrain ...

 https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/02/23/killzones-let-you-build-a-warhammer-40000-battlefield-in-minutes/

Well that seems to only be partially correct.  Be forewarned that not all the terrain previously in the first release of these sets will be in these new boxes.

Here is a video on the results ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j23EzsHyS80

It seems the Sector Fronteris set is the most duplicative, and I might pick that one up, although it appears that GW is selling them for $100 US, not the previously rumored $65.  This set seems to have some decent pieces that are great for terrain dropping for many types of terrain table top set up for 40K, and it has 3 or 4 more pieces than what was previously released.

And Sector Munitorum, the one that if I recall came with starter set being sold further back with Orcs and Space Marines, will not have the cool crane piece, which was also the largest item in the original set.  It seems to have some smaller vehicles that weren't in the original and replace the two that were, while also having two less of the large container pieces.

Plus Sector Mechanicus won't have the two level structure at all.  Thank goodness I bought the Tau/Space Wolf Starter set that is being discontinued due to the new Primaris/Necron one that is coming out, because that set had the 2 level terrain piece, and it seems a good bit more than the new terrain release.

By the way ... new Killteam Killzone book released ... https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Kill-Team-Killzones-EN-2021

Seems this gives rules for 6 different types of 40K environments to be used with games of Killteam.  It is $40 US and 112 pages long.

Hey ... a BIG "head's up" here ... >>> the new Killteam Pariah Nexus set is an expansion, NOT a starter set!

You'll need the rule book at a minimum to be able to play Killteam.

Also, here is a link to a video that reviews set up of the new game, and then enters into a scenario that starts playing at about 26 minutes or there abouts ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY2XkyskOlw

In watching the game play, its seems like a medium level of play at most.

Also, I'm not sure what the "barge thru" rule is all about, but it seemed strange that there was a Necron and a Marine in or close to a door way, and the Sarge was able to move past them both.  Hmmm.

By the way, I liked the board, and imaging how I'd set up a larger board for playing 40K on a Necron world.

Want the even better news guys?
Both Orks and DkoK are multipart, customizable kits!

VERY likely coming in Kill Team first to space things out, and then being released separately when the Guard Codex ends up coming out.

Perhaps DKoK will have a separate book from IG.

Ooh I might need to sit down...

Though my IG are already pretty cumbersome with the masses of Cadians I already own sooo adding some DKoK might be a bit much but hell, they are awesome and when has anybody ever been sensible when it comes to buying new stuff they don't need?! :-D

I think I'd agree, this looks like an entry teaser for a (hopefully) vast new range. I know DKoK have been immensely popular and up till now only available via Forgeworld so looks like they're making their plastic debut.

Also - I've just taken a closer look at the WarCom article and there's an Ork with a swiss army orky knife! :-D

They're full of personality to be fair, but not a lot of interest in Orks for me I'm afraid.

Or should that be a Victorinork knife?...

HA!
