Pre-Heresy colours + HH book questions
« on: February 06, 2013, 01:06:08 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Now I know most people here probably know that a lot of the Legions, mainly the chaos ones and Dark Angels, changed colours after the Horus Heresy.

What I am wondering is if there are any websites people know of where I can see a full collection of the Preheresy colours?  I know what they are, but not how that appears on armour.

Eg World Eaters= Blue/White
Dark Angels=Black
Thousand Sons= Red and white/grey [unsure]
Lunar Wolves= Off White
Emperors Children= Purple/gold
Word Bearers= Grey
Iron Warriors=Silver?  No real idea.
Alpha Legion=No idea, although I suspect its the same as now?
Death Guard=Grey
Night Lords=Dark blue [with lightning?]

Any helps appreciated.

Oh and the HH book.  If anyone has it, care to let me know whats in it?  Are T.Sons in it for example?

Best one I can think of is the wiki's and lexcuim.
Don't have the book but know its only Sons of Horus, Emperor's Children, World Eaters and Death Guard.

Here you go:

There is a list were yolu get to each Legion article, and as far as I know every one of those articles has a couple of pictures of the original color scheme.

Note that sometimes forgeworld fluff doesn't match GW fluff, rare but it happens.

The Thousand Sons are for a future book. As mentioned above, only 4 legions in the first book. Great info on them though.

I can't find the reference I was reading, but Book II is meant to be called 'Massacre' and covers another four legions -  I think Salamanders and Raven Guard were on there, can't remember the others.

Probably Alpha Legion and maybe Iron Hands or another rebel legion.
There are three things each man judges another man by;

1. The size of his codpiece
2. The amount of skulls he carries
3. The length of his feather

Hard to say as Alpha Legion wasn't at any or the major events (well in BL fluff anyway)

I suspect that the next book would be more loyalists so Salamanders, Raven Guard, Iron Hands and then Iron Warriors. As they are going to be doing all Primarchs it's anyone's guess when the next one is coming our or who it will be.

I think Fulgrim and Mortarion are next on the release list.

I have to say, the models they are producing for the HH are outstanding.  If only I was rich!

I am tempted to buy a Pre Heresy Thousand Sons army, using the Chaos codex, but I have an idea that the cost for such an army would be prohibitively expensive!

I like pre heresy space wolves. Nothing changes but the shoulder pads on the terminators and the color scheme  :engel:
