Shadow War Armageddon
« on: April 01, 2017, 10:08:23 PM »
This sold out bloody fast. Downloadable rules and very cool terrain buildings which can be put together and disassembled as required. I think they have another hit on there hands.

wait, are the models in it just an ork and an SM scout sprue?

I can't find the download for the actual core rules, just the warband lists.

bummed I didn't try and pre-order even.
might head to GW early next sat to see if I can get one.
I don't care about the rules.

I think they want you to buy it to get the core rules. Except you can't, because they've run out.  :icon_confused:

I'd like to play this, though you don't get many grey knights for your points!

Lol. I've got more scouts and orks than I need but it looks really cool. Terrain is very cool imo.

it's probably worth buying just for the rules and terrain.

I do kinda like the aesthetic of original necromunda and the idea of differentiated gangs. It also makes loads more sense for campaigns storyline wise.
but I like the ease of accessibility of making them kill teams, and invites people to buy a few boxes from other armies.

I could cobble a dark eldar one together, which would let me play Deldar with my lovely army without feeling sad about how shite their codex is.

I like this sort of terrain and skirmish games, as somehting I can store and bust out onto my table easily for gaming.
I don't care about the rules.

Don't think they're gonna reprint the box which is pretty shit.

Spoke to my blue shirt,he said they hadn't even planned to initially make the rules available outside of the box. Wtf.

Kinda annoying of them as we don't know prices of the terrain pieces yet either.

Pricing in dollars for terrain http://natfka.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/us-and-canada-pricing-hardback-release.html?m=1

Also guard are in main rule book
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

45 dollars cheaper than buying the terrain, plus the rules and extras, plus models.

God damn.

I have praised gw a lot recently for good stuff they do but this is dumb, a limited edition box set to promote new terrain, but I want the fexking rules.

Theres a campaign at my local gw,  but surely only a handful of people will actually have the rules.

I probably just won't buy any of the terrain now.

Sometimes it really seems like someone at Gdubs doesn't realise how popular some stuff will be. They almost always understock or make it to limited.

Or even worse, not even tell people something is limited.

It's based on the old Necromunda game, which I love, so I am going to play it. I'll sell Orks and Scouts online tough, don't really need them.

Nope, mine were pre allocated.

So we can't play at the bash unless they digital release the rules.

It's absolutely absurd they had no plans for the rules, and let them all get bought my people profiteering on terrain discounts.

Well played gw.

Fr1day and I spoke yesterday - he was going to try too, but did say that it was pretty likely a pdf would show up on the web pretty soon, and the GW site was hinting they are going to release terrain bits on their own, and also the rules separately - maybe not for free though.

Still three weeks to the Bash - might still be viable as long as you have existing models.

for me they're £80 including 2 other bits plus dice, tokens, and the rulebook nice, but not £40 on their own nice.

Has anybody managed to get a set yet?

If GW drop the rules as a pdf in the next couple of weeks, it will be getting a bit late to sort a kill team out if you don't know the weapon options. I think I saw the IG team includes @veterans' rather than ordinary guardsmen.
So a squad of them is probably allowed different heavy weapons - my last IG codex is ancient - 2008 the one by Cruddace  :engel:
