Wooooaaaaah , you make my work look like a school child!
Your BSB is simply incredible!
Do you post on CMON?
The best bit about your painting is the depth of the colours, i can see that you use very thin coats ,
well done !
Thank you mr chumley warner - I popped by your thread, and you're work definitely goes beyound the "school child" level
I don't post on CMON, mainly due to the sub-optimal quality of my photo skills. And yes, thin coats is the way to go, even though it doesn't exactly speeds ut the painting - but the result is well worth it I think.
Nice!
I wonder what technics you used for the barding.
I built it up in stages. First I used a pencil to draw the design of the griffons on the plasticard that's being used as the basis for the barding. I then sculpted what's supposed to resemble scrolls and the body of the griffon. Next, I painstakingly added the letters one by one (and god did I curse myself for attempting his!), added legs, head and tail to the griffon, and lastly the wings starting with the bigger feathers and working my way forward. Then I tried to copy the design on the other side - one hell of a job to make it look even remotely the same (although mirrored). I think I learned a great deal from this, previously my sculpting has been limited to smaller details and gap-filling.
Would you mind telling us, where is the priest head from? It looks like plastic greatsword head, but I do not recognise the headress.
You are quite correct, the circlet is sculpted. Here's a WIP shot:
