Title: EUROBASH 2013 Event Planning and details.
Post by: warhammerlord_soth on January 11, 2013, 02:19:43 PM
Saturday MAY 18th, Sunday MAY 19th, Monday, MAY 20th.

(The Monday being a public holiday in Belgium)

So participants may choose what days they wish to attend -  people can attend the first two days or the last two days or all three days - up to you.

Venue will again be St Niklaas, in the new HQ clubhouse.

After the experiences of previous years I am certain that we will stay at the Ibis Hotel in the centre of St Niklaas.
It is 5 minutes walk from the gaming venue and there are plenty of bars within staggering distance.

Attending:

Definites
WarhammerLord Soth                 (Belgium)      3days, no hotel
Midaski                                       (UK)              3days, hotel 17th-21st
Aldaris                                        (Merkelland)   3days, hotel 17th-21st
Fr1day                                       (UK)               3days, hotel 17th-21st
commandant                              (Ex Pat)        3days, hotel 18th-21st
Fandir Nightshade                        (Germany)     3days, hotel 17th-21st
Novogord                                  (Belgium)
cisse                                          (Belgium)
StealthKnightSteg                        Holland        3days, hotel 17th-21st
Rat                                             Holland          3days, hotel 17th-21st
Commander Bernhardt                Belgium
Shavixmir                                     Holland      3days, hotel 17th-20th
rufus sparkfire                            (UK)            3days, hotel 17th-21st

Probables

Possibles
Finlay                                         (UK)             3days, hotel 17th-21st

If you wish to be added to the list, please post in the thread and I will update as we get closer.
To help me negotiate a good deal at the Hotel, it would be helpful if people confirm as soon as they can, and what days they are likely to attend.

Several people may be travelling to the venue on Friday 17th and leaving on Tuesday May 21st.
However not everybody is staying all 4 nights.

We would expect a twin room to be about 70e and hopefully including breakfast - which is served until 10.00am, and for many of us did for lunch as well.
Otherwise apart from travel cost, it's an evening meal and beers.

'Gaming intensity' is entirely up to you - in previous years some people have played 3 games a day, and others one.

I should be in with the rat (he has no choice in the matter according to his wife  :engel: )
Though my girlfriend needs to work out if she can get free on the monday (2nd pinksterdag -translation gives pentecost??) and it seems to be a hard day to get off work for her, so if that doesn't work then we might need to work on babysitters.

3days, hotel 17th-21st

There's a 90% chance I'll be coming.
And there's a 75% chance if I come, that a pal will be coming with me.
And there's a 30% chance another pal might join us for one day.

The week before there's a tournament in Warhammer world we want to play in. But two consecutive weekends of gaming sounds awfully "on" to me.

And personally, I'd rather attend the bash than Warhammer world.

I'll let you know. But, write me up as a definate yes. But, I'll let you know how many days closer to the date.

By the way... one of the dates in big print is "april"...

Nobody ever wants revenge matches with me  :icon_cry:

Well except Commandante but there I WANT the revenge!!!

Hmm well on the other hand Rufus wants a Grutch match but I think it is more about playing bare foot and bare chested than about taking revenge for the game during which the sneaky cast of my death mage made him and Finlay lose to Friday and me.

4 months of bloody Winter we've had!
Nay, we're still suffering!
4 months of freezing misery!
As you all know, I come from a sub-tropical climate, and if this bloody Winter doesn't end soon I'm not going to make it to the bash.
I'll have slit my wrists out of self-pity!

Sweet Jesus.

Anyhoo... I'll definately... Well, take that one as you see fit, need a hotel room for the Saturday and Sunday night.
I'm not sure about the Friday or Monday yet. I'll let you know asap.
Or not if it stays cold.

Just done the booking and confirmed with Eurotunnel.

Same schedule as last year.

Booked outwards at 2.00pm from Folkestone, and coming back same time 2.20pm from Calais - both local.

So room for me, Fr1day, rufus and Finlay if he is allowed  :engel:

No, this year I'm entering the arena with a warriors of chaos list.

And it's rubbish. I'm having great difficulty thinking up an alternative or interesting way of playing them which doesn't suck donkey balls.

Very maybe MSU (units of 10 and a champ) with 3 warshrines....

I am going to Salute on Saturday - so if anyone wants anything now is a good time to ask.

http://www.salute.co.uk/salute/salute-2013/

For example, I really like the 4Ground stuff    http://www.4ground.co.uk/

I have some of their Dark Age 28mm stuff which is nice, but I have just started making a couple of their American Legends Western / FYI cabins and the fact that they are providing what is essentially a wood building makes them even better.
[DWhitey has some pics in his B&P thread I think]

Quote
Buy £300 worth or more of 4Ground products from our 4Ground show stand on the day, at Salute and you instantly get 35% off their cost.

£200 worth of 4Ground products you get a 25% discount.
£125 worth of 4Ground products you get a 15% discount.
£50 worth of 4Ground products and you will still get a 10% discount there and then!

That’s £300 worth of products for only £195!?!

Please note: this can only last as long as we have the stock on our stand at the show.

I've not seen much in the way of discounted deals on their stuff before.
I have some stuff on my target list, but if anybody wishes to add anything on for delivery at the Bash please speak up now.

Or if you see any other deals you want me to take advantage of.

The Rat is also coming along I got confirmation in the most general sort of way, will clarify it out with him some more (atleast I know my mother in law needs to babysit at their house on friday cause he will be leaving with me for belgium that day hehehe)

So anyone else needs a lift on the route of Leeuwarden (NL) to St.Niklaas (BE) ??

Anyhow, I'd love to come by all 3 days (no hotel needed, it's not that far) if I'm certain to get in some nice Warhammer Fantasy Battles. I can even consider to come with another army each day. I can come with Empire (of course), Vampire Counts and High Elves (the latest release). Just let me know which one you want to face on what day and for how many points.

One more question: what's the address of the venue as I seem to have missed that?

However, I will still be keen on playing football if the weather is even slightly acceptable.

I think my shin will be pleased as well about the rain, but on the other hand real soccer players also play during downpours!
Playing no soccer and no BBQ makes me cry a little inside..

I wonder if our southern neighbours know about Gourmet, might be a very good alternative to a BBQ if we need to be indoors!
Still lots of meat! :)

To my adversaries: thanks for the extra additions to my Vampire Army as you both were willing to get your troops killed by my Vampire Lord and his minions...
To Warhammerlord_Soth especially: thanks for the organisation and the lovely hospitality at your place. I hope we can enjoy each others company at the gaming table soon...

Games posted:
Chosen of Sigmar (game1)
Commandant (game2)
Fr1day (game3)

To come:

Aldaris my nemesis..... (game5)

By the way can't we have some sort of sticky with the links to all the planning and picture threads from the Eurobashes?
