A friend of mine started what he called the "book club" for a while, he only collected minis that had a book open on it. Then he started collecting minis with any book on it. (Open or closed.) So, show us your book club minis.
-
I've already post him once before in a different thread, but here goes.

They turn up on ebay all the time (theres 4 on ebay at the moment) and they range from going for dead cheap to really expensive. Depends when you look I suppose.

How about a walking book?
-
That is sweet. Is it one of the old familiars that GW put out a long time ago?
-
Yes, it is. They still sell it, in fact.
-
Bad pic of the only "book club" mini I've painted in the last 5 years (2 and 1/2 yrs old):

Seriously, I thought Steve was going to have a whole brigade of troops holding books.

There ya go Steve, new unit idea the Emperor's Library Brigade! A whole unit of "Librarians" each using a massive book for a weapon, (or 2 smaller books) count as Free Co. or Flaggies!

Hmm, a large and ferocious dragon, I do believe there is something in Humphingers "How to Kille Beastes with ye Fire" about this, do stop lollygagging boy and help me go through the Index

My war-altar. Haven't really played Empire in 8.th ed. yet, and chariots did not like str. 7 hits in 7.th ed. so I'm looking forward to playing with it and not having my bastard friends instant-killing it.

Nice category, I could post loads but here are a selection that might be less familiar:
Avid readers, The Blue Scribes:
Reaper Wizard

Two Scibor models

And a second Reaper wizard, this one converted with added scythe, hourglass, skull and book
(http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o541/Shadespyre/WARHAMMER/Middenheim%20Empire%20Army/AmethystWizard.jpg)(http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o541/Shadespyre/WARHAMMER/Middenheim%20Empire%20Army/AmethystWizard2.jpg)
Plus I've got the usual flagellants, war altar, warrior priests and wizards as already shown. No books in my Beastman army though! :?

Here are the ones I can find ...
Now you might say that they ain't all Empire models, but I dispute that. Gnomish savant servants are high fashion for nobles in my version of the Old World, and the skaven, well, you're never further than 10 yards from a Skaven in an Empire city - isn't that what they say?
If you had allowed scrolls and papers, I reckon I could probably more than double this little bunch. And I still think there are some more dusty old figures carrying dusty old tomes somewhere in my collection.
-
OK, here is my version of one of the most feared creatures in all of the (ancient?) Warhammmer World armed with his most dangerous weapon...the dreaded Rob Lane and his Warhammer Rulebook:

Wohooo the Lion is Back
-
Great to see you back Lion ............
....... as you have been out of the loop for a few years you might not know and want to "catch up" on Mr Lane and the demise of Maelstrom.

Beeing in the back of a horde formation means you've got time to spare for a light read.
-
If that's 'light reading' then I'd like to see what you consider the heavy stuff!
-
I'd like to know how many people in the Empire are even able to read.
