Advice on beating Ogres using 8th ed/End time rules
« on: August 01, 2015, 02:33:26 PM »
Hi guys I am playing a game soon against ogres using End Time rules. I am thinking of bringing Karl Franz Ascendant as part of the army. I'm a little worried however that he'll bring two iron blasters and a bunch of lead belchers to shoot him up.

As far as I know he'll be bringing at least a:

- lvl 4 slaughtermasters and another magic user and a dispel scroll and feedback scroll.
- a unit of maneaters
- leadbechers
- a Iron blaster or two
- Gorger

I was wondering if their are any specific tips or tricks when playing against ogres? How would you deal with a goger popping in your back lines turn 2? Would Karl Franz Ascendant be worth bringing?

Karl Franz Ascended is an absolute beast and is worth taking in any matchup. And especially against multi wound ogres he will wreck face. Just make sure to keep him busy in close combat as much as possible, this also helps protect him against cannons and magic. Using terrain features and general common sense to protect him is also good.

Cannon his cannons and hellblast his gorgers. Easy life.

I would use a helblaster, held back steam tank, or archer detachments to counter a pending gorger.
