Carturello Empire miniatures
« on: July 12, 2017, 04:32:43 PM »
Hi everyone!

This summer I started a new project, I'm trying to restore and customize old oldhammer models of the Empire. I bought these pieces for a little money or they were in lots of bits and models.

The first is Karl Franz with Deathaclaw, I carved the missing tail and reassembled the pieces, the emperor was taken later. I did not like it right away, but when I assembled it I saw how majestic it is and now I find it amazing.

The second one is an imperial cannon, I have broken the frieze by drilling the barrel ;-( So I thought of replacing the old coat of arms with a photoincision depicting the Averland sun.The wheels and the axis were not so I built them.

The third is a halfling taken on ebay very ruined, I tried to give it back to the ancient dignity

I can, but I wish I could not. Prince Carnival there ranks amongst the worst Empire models ever.
It is not enough to have no ideas of your own; you must also be incapable of expressing them.

Bah! Its not that bad.
I think Imrik is worse.
And I can think of a dozen other ugly models, often in the chaos range.

The current griffon is too big it is impractical to think of the rider being able to hit anyone.

I also thought it before I held it in my hands. Actually once assembled is a pretty model, before I thought it was worse, it's now becoming my favorite Karl griffon

I painted and converted these Stirlander more than a year ago. I will complete the group with the river patrol. I had fun inserting a relic with the leg of Talabecland's Count  lost during the battle on the Stir in 2427 and never returned  :closed-eyes:

Last days I took some time off commissioned work and completed my first wizard, obviously of the Bright order  ::heretic::

hopefully you like it, later I calmly want to resume it to do the free hand of the flames and the key symbol.

Now the emperor can fly with Death claw! I'm undecided whether or not to do the banner. What do you say?
I could attach it with 2 mini magnets and lift it if I do not want to use it.
