Yep, thats right, its breakfast time! :icon_biggrin:
Had fried rice and pilaf, one egg, two strips of bacon, a slice of irish soda bread, and a cup of cooluumbian coffee. :icon_cool:
Freaking outstanding this morning! :::cheers:::
-
Sounds good!
I love good breakfasts. I think my current favourite is still eggs benedict, coffee and some Orange/Mango juice.
-
Jealous GP,
I had porridge and a cup of tea. Was ok. Starving now

Breakfast is the best meal of the day!
Haven't had orange/mango in a while. Nantucket Nectars and Paul Newman's both make tasty versions of this here in the States.

So over your way, is porridge another word for oatmeal? That tends to fill the hole, but doesn't give that extra boost of protein that an egg will provide.
-
Three cups of coffee, 2 greek yogurts, and a banana.
-
I eat the same breakfast every single day. Raw oats with milk, english muffin (well this varies, sometimes toast) and a cup of tea.
Good stuff.
-
As a shift worker meal times and names become meaningless. I'm having spaghetti bolognese at 2:40 am. What the hell even is that.
-
LOL awesome.
-
I had a bagel this morning.
I feel like I'm missing out.
Usually over the weekend I'll make myself a fried egg with cheese and bacon on a ciabatta roll.
-
I had a cup of coffee, Oatmeal and some cold pills.
Looked exactly the same when it came back up :eusa_sick:
I just had to ruin all of your breakfasts :engel:
-
It's when it looks the same coming out the other end that you're in trouble.
-
As a shift worker meal times and names become meaningless. I'm having spaghetti bolognese at 2:40 am. What the hell even is that.
This. I woke up at noon, got out of bed at 1300, and had Chipotle right before my shift started at 1500. I'll probably eat my leftovers at 1900 and make a sandwich or something when I get home at 2300.
When I do eat an actual breakfast, I like eggs (over easy or omelet) and orange juice when I'm motivated...more typical is cold cereal (corn flakes or rice krispies).
-
Coffee and cheese & ham/baloney sandwich.
If at home perhaps also eggs, stir-fried with tomato paste. And orange juice. Then perhaps also a toast with butter and honey to finish it off nicely.
-

the answer to that is ... probably what you want it to be.
-
I wanted it to turn into a solid bowel movement, but that didn't make it so, unfortunately.
Bolognese for 3am meal again today. First meal of the day (6:45pm) was pork vindaloo, not too shabby.
This is my 10th year of 24hr shift work. Taking bets on whether I catch crazy or cancer first.

I wasn't referring to your waste material, I was referring to your intake.
If you're having that much problem with what you eat coming out the wrong way, maybe a trip to the doctor is worth it, even if its not a medical doctor. :icon_wink:
By the way, here's a thread for your rough moments in life ...

Good luck and I hope your situation improves. :::cheers:::
-
Generally just cereal on work days where I go into the office, fruit or yogurt when I work at home and usually something like eggs, hashbrowns and maybe toast, bacon or sausage with some milk or orange juice on the weekends.
-
I rarely eat cold cereal anymore. Many have too much sugar, and although some of the other less sugared ones are ok, my body doesn't do well with lots of milk anymore. Hot cereal, I prefer oatmeal and dislike cream of wheat, can be quite healthy and tasty with fruit or brown sugar or both.
-
(http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg88/nottsfootballfan/DSC_0755.jpg)
boom.
-
Is this the Instagram thread now? :)
I had two poached eggs, some toast made with rosemary garlic bread and a few rashers of bacon. No coffee as it's Lent.
-

Tomato sauce with that - you pleb
It should be HP (brown)

The bacon looks good. Is that tuna fish or chicken on slice of toast to the right? Maybe egg with the yolks removed?
-
Scrambled eggs!
I treated myself this morning, normally I have cereal, toast, or porridge.
-
That looks delicious. We have identical preferences in egg/bacon preparation. Beans would complement that though.

I am a creature of habit...

My egg preference is probably fried. I'd never made scrambled eggs until two days ago, when I made some for ted!
I like poached, but it can go wrong.
-
Scrambled eggs!

Your scrambled eggs don't look like what I'm familiar with over here. Our's tend to be scrambled before they are put in the fry pan, which means the white and yolk is mixed, giving the scrambled eggs a yellow color.
-
that's how we do it here too.
I guess the picture whited them out a bit.
-
What's with British people and putting everything on toast? I have a Gordon Ramsay cookbook, and there's a whole chapter entitled "things on toast." :?
-
bacon and eggs and toast.
How is that weird?
uber standard breakfast!

Agreed, but in the US, you'd almost never see the eggs nor the bacon on top of the toast - they'd all be eaten separately.
-
What's with British people and putting everything on toast?
What's with Americans and not putting things on toast! :icon_razz:
-
Bacon and eggs go on bagels, bisuits, and english muffins in the States, and sometimes even toast, so why not in England, too?

Shit on a Shingle (Navy Style: Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast) is my favorite food.

I've never seen anyone put scrambled eggs or bacon on toast in the way Finlay did, was just curious is all. What IS common in the US in breakfast sandwiches, which almost always include omelet or fried egg and often bacon. Also, buscuits and gravy rocks, probably my favorite breakfast food.
-
I normally just have toast for breakfast. Nothing nice!
-
I normally just have toast for breakfast. Nothing nice!
:icon_eek: And you put nothing on it? Oh my. :icon_wink: :icon_lol:
-
Toast is magic.
Always toast two slices at a time:
The first still hot straight from the grill or toaster is covered in proper butter, and there's that lovely hot/warm texture of the melted butter making the toast soft ........
and the second slice, (or 4th , or 6th :engel: ) is allowed to go cold and crisp, before again you cover it thick with butter which doesn't melt this time, and you can add orange, or lemon marmalade for a whole alternative experience.
Then of course eggs, sausages, beans, bacon and other sundry fried breakfast foods are nothing without accompanying toast - it is again a texture thing:
you have the generally soft texture of eggs, beans tomatoes, and maybe the sausages, against the crispness of the toasted bread.
Oh and why has no-one mentioned the other toastastic delight - cheese on toast, or tomatoes and cheese on toast, or ham and cheese on toast, ........... :engel:
-
More reasons why breakfast can be so good! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::

Eggs over easy. Dip toast (sourdough is best) into yolk. Mmmm...
Old school. 'Bout makes my wife hurl whenever she sees me do it hehe..
-
How is that a problem? It makes the toast delicious and the yolk edible.
As an American, I agree that toast generally does not have things on it, unless in sandwich form.

This must be one of those Americans with less life experience than some others. Don't let him fool you, I've seen folks put stuff on toast in the States since I was a youngun', a long time ago.
And yes, toast dipped in egg yolk is good! :icon_cool:

It's pretty common for people to not like their eggs at all runny. My girlfriend is the same way: her fried eggs have to be cooked hard and her scrambled eggs cooked to overdoneness (by my standards). My ex was the same way, as are many people I know. It's usually the same types that won't eat a steak that's at all red in the middle (although thankfully my girlfriend isn't...it's just the eggs thing with her, for whatever reason).
-
Eggs are only good when you fry them in Bacon grease..

I agree. Very tasty!
-
Local Tesco just started stocking Onion & Chive Bagels. Bane/Best-thing of my uni life.
£10 a week just on Bagels, Cream Cheese and Bacon. However it is like the most filling, tasty, awesome breakfast ever.
-
Hmmm ... never had cream cheese and bacon on a bagel. Might try that sometime.
-

Oh definitely do... It will rock your world.
-
I don't think I've ever eaten a bagel without cream cheese.
-
I like toasted bagels with peanut butter and jelly.
-
Yeh Bagel and Peanut Butter is a good'en as well. Need a drink though, by the time you hit bagel two it's like eating gravel.
-
I've had bagels with cream cheese, just not included bacon before.
Toasted bagels with butter are yummy! :icon_biggrin:
This morning though ... cream filled donut with french brew coffee. :icon_cool:
-
Eggs easy over, toast soldiers, bacon and beans, plus a cup of tea.
I'm hungover... please have a nap ted!
-
Sounds good Finlay! :::cheers:::
-
man I love me some chocolate chip pancakes, but that is a rarity.
ie built up a routine for my meals. morning is usually a small bowl of cereal and when I get to work I have part 2 of my breakfast which is 2 cinnamon apple sauce fruit cups.
-
Had two eggs over hard, peach yogurt, coffee, two chocolate/oat granola bars.
-
How is that a problem? It makes the toast delicious and the yolk edible.

As an American I say that you've lived a sheltered life! I've eaten all kinds of stuff on toast and not just in sandwich form. Country gravy with sausage, Shit on a Shingle, scrambled eggs and cheese, peanut butter and maple syrup, and lots of other stuff including making sandwiches like bacon egg and cheese.
It really depends on the day what I have, I like variety. This past weekend on Saturday I had eggs scrambled with garlic powder and tomatoes, pork hominado longanisa, and garlic fried rice. A couple weekends before I made homemade Spanish Bread and Pan de Sal (a Filipino style bread), so I had Spanish bread and a glass of milk for breakfast a few days the following week. My wife ate the Pan de Sal with peanut butter and coffee for breakfast that week. Today I had a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios, 3 slices of bacon, and some iced tea. Tomorrow I'll probably have some yogurt. This coming weekend I think we'll probably do eggs fried over easy, bacon, toast with butter and grape jam (although I usually just do buttered toast and dip it in the egg yolk, so yummy!), and milk.
-
Two pop tarts, raspberry filled, and a stiff cup of Columbian coffee.
-
1/2 caffeine pill, small salad, protein shake, slice of whole wheat bread with almond butter(or coconut oil, peanut butter, et cetera), 6 almonds or pistachios, 1/2 a quest bar.
I'm not a huge breakfast person even when I'm not training/dieting.
-
I've just started working night shifts around 2 weeks ago so my breakfast has become whatever my parents are having for lunch/tea. For instance yesterday I had Lasagne. It's not as good as it sounds, I'm not sure how long this job will last.

I can't eat anything really dense/rich right awake waking or I feel sick.
Anyways, see about switching to first or second shift. Third shift really does a number on your metabolism, social life, and psyche.

Apparently you can get it in gum too. I had an MRE and the Drill Sergeant took the gum out of my hand and threw it out the window.
"You're too young for caffeine Private! Now beat your face for even thinking about it!"
I had no idea!
-
I friend of mine who was in the Canadian military said that there were given caffeine gum during a sleep-deprivation exercise.
Caffeine pills are usually found next to painkillers and have names like "Vivarin" or "No-Doze" instead of being self-descriptive. You can also get caffeinated bottled water(though it tastes 'off' to me) and mints.
-
But its breakfast. Pills and gum are as bad a coca-cola. Besides, coffee doesn't just taste good, its cheaper.
-
Two fried eggs, sour dough toast oozing with butter, and french roast coffee. The coffee was solidly smoky, and darkly robust in flavor, produced by "Peet's Coffee" out of Berkley California. Picked up the ground roast on sale, yet it proved better than my low expectation.
Also tried "Chocolate Cappuccino" flavored coffee from New England Coffee the other day. Its a medium roast, good for a mellow change of pace, yet not much more than that.
-
Berkley California.
This ruined all of that for me! :biggriin:
-
Ok, and thankfully I'm not that descriminatory when it comes to good coffee to have with breakfast. This one actually reminded me of my first cup of french roast so many years ago.
A stunning observation for me, because I'd been looking to replicate that original experience, and had never come close. This one's goodness was very close, and thats the best I can likely hope for at this point. :icon_cool:
-
Sounds like I need to start making an effort regarding breakfast...today I had a bowl of sourmilk (like yoghurt, but without the sweetness) with muesly and raisins and a glass of juice. Same as most mornings...I'm lazy! :P
Theo
-
I had a peafowl egg omelet this morning!
And a glass of goats milk. I get it for free so I can't complain
-
Berries and Coffee..
Blue
Black
Ras
Straw
Chic peas
and a few cherries on top.
I had way too much coffee today but I needed the kick start.
-
Breakfast is where I impress the ladies.
French toast? awww yea.
Huevos con Chorizo? Girls like that better.
My next goal is to copy my mother's bacon gravy/roux. Its so damn good. Also to learn how to make good, crispy bacon.
-
Also to learn how to make good, crispy bacon.
I always make it in the oven. Put in on a cookie sheet with a wire rack on it so that the cookie sheet catches the grease. Then bake at 350 for like 10 minutes (I think, I just watch it and take it out when it looks crispy.) Then when you take it out, be VERY careful you don't spill the grease (I got the worst burn I've ever had, on my arm, that way).
-
I just fry it up until it gets some colour and then whack it in the oven in a tray. Never had an issue with dripping oil or whatever. I put it in the tray, not on a rack in the tray.
Basically however you do it, the oven is what does the job.
-
Two fried eggs, rice, sourdough toast, french roast coffee. :icon_biggrin:
-
Bowl of corn flakes (2% milk), glass of cranberry juice.
-
Peach yogurt and dark roast coffee (Major Dickson's Blend), black.
-
A spoon full of peanut butter...
-
1st breakfast: apple sauce and chocolate fudge muscle milk concoction.
2nd breakfast: nature valley protein bar
-
Red Raspberry yogurt and black coffee. Yum!
-
Bacon, fried black pudding, fried tomatoes, boiled egg, toast, butter, honey. Washed down with coffee and orange-mango-juice.
That was awesome.
-
sounded good till you got to the honey!
-
Beeshit is awesome you heathen!
For me it was a cup of coffee I think
-
I love honey, it I wouikdnt take it with a fry up!
-
I find local honey helps with allergies in the spring for me, otherwise I dont put honey on anything.
-

It kind of was the dessert. One final slice of toast with something sweet to finish it all off.

OJ mixed with Mountain Dew and pizza. (I'm at work first thing in the "morning" - 11am - so there was no time for breakfast before I left.)
-
11am is first thing in the morning? I was up at 6am. :icon_wink:
This morning, nothing fancy ... 2 eggs over easy, toast w/butter, black coffee. Was going to get some scrapple at of the freezer and have it thaw, but neglected to last night before sleeping. Maybe next weekend instead.
-
11am is first thing in the morning? I was up at 6am. :icon_wink:
Yeah, I work 3pm-11pm normally, and am a natural night owl, so I usually get up around 10 or 11 am. So this morning I was up at 10, right in the shower and then to work.

I'm definitely having a bacon sandwich today.... just need to go to the store to get bacon when my wife gets up.
yes, I'm up with both kids, extra brownie points for meeeee

Actually, this thread makes me hungry every time I look at it. Fortunately, there's some nice ground beef and other ingredients waiting in the kitchen. Home made burger dinner, hooo!
:-D
-
I did a simple 2 granola bars with black coffee this morning, wasn't really in the mood for much.
-
Got alittle fancier this morning ...

A mug of tea!
-
2 eggs over easy, medium roast french coffee, black.

Are you in the Northeast US? The only place I've ever seen scrapple was when I lived in Philly.

when I lived in Philly.
You lived inside the Holy Goat!?
What heresy is this?

There are more things between his head and girth, Quickbeam, than are dreamt of in your Philly.

Cinnamon and raisin bagel, buttered.
Two cups of tea.
-
Sounds good Finlay!
- - -
Aaah!

Two hard boiled eggs and toast with butter.

Peach yogurt and medium french coffee. Maybe I'll do up some eggs next, but taking things one moment at a time.
-
Boysenberry yogurt, a pair of granola bars, and dark black coffee. Not in the mood for cooking this morning.

Although I'd pass on the fried mushrooms.
-
2 fried eggs, cherry and vanilla yogurt, toast, medium french black coffee.
I love breakfast! :::cheers:::
-
banana, trail mix, tea....
I hate life.
-
Was bit lazy this morning. Reheated some left over coffee and had it with peach yogurt. Not feeling particulalry thrilled about it ... lol.
-
Less lazy today ...
2 egg omlette w/cheese, two slices of toast w/homemade strawberry jam, black deep roast Peet's Coffee: Major Dickson's Blend.
-
I pity all you non-Swedes for missing out on leverpastej. :P http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leverpostej
Sounds gross, tastes delicious with some pickles. :icon_mrgreen:
Today I had a leverpastej and pickles sandwich and a glass of orange juice.
Theo

That does sound pretty gross, but I'll try anything once.
Frozen fruit bar. I'm seriously running out of food.

:::cheers:::
Although I usually don't have it for breakfast. But then, I am a pervert and sometimes even eat a steak for breakfast.
:-D
So yeah, when the mood strikes me and I've got some in the fridge, why not?
-
Not feeling too well today, have a wicked cold, and breakfast tastes all wrong. Can't stand being ill, even the coffee tastes bad. been like this for a couple of days and looking forward to getting back to yummier things.
-
Hope you feel better.
I generally have a bowl of cereal during the week. This morning it was Frosted Flakes.
-
Thanks! Feeling a bit better this evening. Had a chicken burrito for dinner, and flavor seemed to have returned to my tongue, so here's looking for a tasty breakfast in the morning. :icon_cool:
-
Strawberries tasted as such this morning, and the coffee was back to being best black.
-
2 egg omlette slowly cooked with apple smoked cheddar cheese inside, rosemary and olive oil sourdough bread toasted with butter, medium french coffee black.
Delicious, exquisite, smoothly satisfying.
-
Leftover pizza and 2 cups of coffee make my mornings happy
-
Woah, is that new avatar, Quickbeam, mean you're doing an Averland army? :icon_wink:
-
Possibly! It's the 5th Cavalry Regiment Coat of arms actually :biggriin: And I already have half of a pained an Averland army! I'm adopting this for my army's coat of arms I think.
-
I like it!
-
Buttermilk pancakes with real maple syrup from my brother's farm, scrapple, and black coffee.
The heat is on, cause it's cold outside this morning. The oven is preheating for some more holiday cooking goodness.
-
Oatmeal cookies.
-
I love oatmeal cookies fresh out of the oven and warm! And with raisins! :::cheers:::
After having little to eat at a high school reunion, I did up a 3 egg scramble with 2 large slices of scrapple, and a cinnamon twist. Black coffee again, too ... lol.
-
This morning ... 2 egg omlette with cheddar cheese from a place called Pineland Farms Creamery in Maine, 2 slices of scrapple, and warm raspberry pie (no sugar added, and it was so good and tart, contrasting with the sweetness of the butter in the crust, that I might never add sugar again). Black coffee was again Major Dickson's Blend, definitely one of my favorites.

What do you think W-E is? TWITTER :icon_twisted:

What's Twitter?
Breakfast is the best meal of the day! Whatever Twitter is can't be that good.
Sharing it with other cool dudes across the globe is cool, too. Nothing like making, eating, and having good conversation make for a great start to one's day.

Kind of bland this morning, back to 2 eggs over easy, although the peach yogurt was tasty.
-
For a joke, I had a tinned breakfast.
It was... not a good experience. As expected. :-D
-
You should stick with kids on toast.
-
A little different this morning ... sesame seed bagel with butter, orange mango juice, cherry vanilla yogurt, coffee black.
-
Was up way too early this morning. I've had strawberry yogurt and black coffee, but still struggling. Maybe I'll go buy a nice big coffee roll.
-
I had a sausage muffin with cheese.
-
Two eggs over easy and Earl Grey tea.
-
I made my son a boiled egg and he cheered me and started shouting "egg egg egg".
Seems hebsgares your enthusiasm for breakfast gp!
-
I was going to have a boiled egg as well, but we only had one left so I had peanut butter on toast
-
I've started out with red raspberry yogurt, but coffee will be on shortly.
How old is Ted?
-
2 and 5 months
-
Still counting the months, huh? :icon_wink:
Starting off with breakfast makes my morning and gets a good start to the day. Hopefully Ted will find that to be the same as he grows into maturity.
-
Mixed berry yogurt ... not impressed, the blueberries tend to over power the rest.
Did 2 eggs and medium black french coffee. Kind of dull morning.
-
Kind of dull morning.
Bit like this thread then ................
:closed-eyes:
-
Probably like any thread ... to some. :icon_wink:
Sharing breakfast with folks who are good people, even if they live all over the world, can have its merit ... to some. :icon_cool:
-
2 egg omlette with pork roll inside, yum! :icon_biggrin:
Tried a new coffee this weekend, New England's San Fran Blend, a dark roast that seems low on flavor, but smooth. Not sure I'm thrilled by it, and so went with Peete's Major Dickson's Blend. The latter is becoming my stand by choice of preference.
-
This morning I had a cheese plate consisting of Camembert, Chaumes and Munster.
Tomorrow morning I'm having fried bacon and eggs (proper fresh eggs; the sort which don't spread out all over the pan, but form nice little dense circles all by themselves).
Saturday morning, however, I'll be having a pre-holiday breakfast. Something special.
I think I'm gonna smoke me some haddock (although Dutch haddock isn't really that good, so I might just buy some smoked salmon... I mean.. you can't smoke salmon on one of those little smokey-BBQ things... it just doesn't work) and poach some eggs for on top.
From Sunday onwards, for ten days, I presume I'll be having smoked Spanish hams (Serrano is really the only one I know, but maybe that's just Spanish for smoked ham.... Bloody Spanish. I can really only say: "Uno Thervetha por favor." and what else does one really need to know?) and jam sandwiches.
Bloody Spanish. Great foods for lunch and evening meals, but very, very tragic when it comes to breakfasts. Much like the French and the Italians in that respect.
German breakfasts: cheese platters, cold meat platters and rolls with schnitzels on them... washed down with a liter of beer! That's what I like.
-
Best post I've seen Shav make in a good while. :::cheers:::
-
Seemed to take forever to make breakfast this morning. And it wasn't quite as yummy as I prefer. The coffee seemed blah, but this might be since the mango yogurt was horrible and had a nasty way of making other things taste less than desireable. The over easy eggs and scrapple weren't even particularly stimulating to the tongue. :icon_sad:
-
Big pile of crispy bacon, 2 scrambled eggs and apple juice (the organic stuff which actually looks like it might have come out of an apple). :)
Theo
-
This morning it was two eggs over easy, peach yogurt, black coffee, and corn chips.
Been doing lots of scrapple recently, but all out this morning. :icon_sad:
-
Yesterday it was a two egg omlette with cheddar cheese from Maine, raspberry yogurt, and dark roast coffee.
This morning I went alittle lighter with 2 granola bars, strawberry yogurt, and medium roast coffee. :icon_lol:
-
Had a cheese omelette this morning with black cherry yogurt and dark roast coffee.
Maybe its just Monday, maybe my taste buds still haven't readjusted after my illness, or maybe the breakfast really was just blah today. : (
-
Bought a loaf of sourdough bread from a local baker and had some of it toasted up with melted butter. Yum!
Enjoyed this with a medium roast coffee called "Nantucket Blend" this morning, and it was quite pleasant.
-
I had pancakes with real maple syrup! Outstanding! :::cheers:::
-
Sausage hash this morning with eggs on top. My favorite breakfast ever.
The only thing that would make it better would be if I had some bacon to go with it.
-
Sausage hash has been added to the list of things I want.
-
Cook sausage, add diced (not shredded) hash browns, season. Fry an egg or two.
Put hash in bottom of bowl, put eggs on top. I like to cut up the egg into the hash before I eat.
It should look like this:

-
Looks great! :icon_biggrin:
-
Tomorrow:
Serano ham with camambert and chaumes cheese.
-
Shav ... thats sounds outstanding! :::cheers:::
I love breakfast! :icon_biggrin:
-
Moving quickly ... two eggs over easy, peach yogurt, and dark roast black coffee.
Too lazy to slice the fresh sourdough bread this morning, plus need to move along for work. :icon_lol:
-
Well after seeing the price of the new W:AoS Chaos castle set ... wow ... it's off for some much needed breakfast.
Haven't had my coffee yet either, but sheez, the price of that baby, it sure woke me up this morning ... lol.
-
One slice of bread with peanutbutter and chocolate sprinkles.
One cup of water.
-
I enjoyed a large plain fresh made on the premesis bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. And a cup of coffee anyway. They called it northwest dark, and it was fairly good.
-
Some leftover sushi from yesterday. Tasty!
-
Tomorrow: full scottish breakfast.
-
With white pudding?
-
AnD square sasuages?
-
Tomorrow - an Ulster Fry...mmmmm
-
I had a cheese omelet this morning, with peach yogurt, and dark coffee black.
-
A rushed bowl of cornflakes, with my two dogs who are obsessed with dry cereal, staring at me hopefully.
-
thats a bit of a downgrade from an ulster fry!
-
With white pudding?
Nope :-(
Also, no square sausage.
Every B&B had a different kind of true scottish breakfast.
-
thats a bit of a downgrade from an ulster fry!
That's sleeping in for you!
-
Pancakes, butter, real maple syrup, and Viennna Roast coffee black.
-
Why are your breakfasts always so impressive? Damn you.
-
It's my favorite meal of the day. :icon_cool:
-
A bagel with cheese ad coleslaw. mmmmm
-
That's different, I may try that sometime. Is the cheese just a slice of that processed kind or cream cheese or something different?
-

It's mature Irish cheddar, the cheese that other cheeses wish they were!
In terms of BRN (Breakfast Related News), I had a dry croissant whilst rushing to work. We have an actor in the museum today who is playing the role of a monastic illuminated manuscript writer using real vellum and all sorts of other semi-witchcraft-like material.
-
What is the link between a dry croissant and an actor playing a scriba or illuminator.
-
It's mature Irish cheddar
It's probably what I miss the most about Ireland. Norway is like the North Korea of cheese.
-
What is the link between a dry croissant and an actor playing a scriba or illuminator.
They are both French
-
I Had two poached eggs from a neighbours hens, grilled san marizo tomatoes straight off my plants and grilled streaky smoked bacon from my local farm. Less than 1 food mile combined. With a double expresso americano, with thousands of food miles!
-
I had fried black pudding, a boiled egg, toast, coffee, orange juice and a peach.
Yumm.

Oh and I had a regionally made coffee called Lakehouse Blend. They advertise it as "perfect for sitting around on the porch and watching the sunrise".
It's what we New Englanders sometimes do pondering what hobby purchases (along with other cosmic considerations) to make from the vast array of better alternatives than GW has for shopping in the region.
:engel:
Had it with a raspberry filled pastry from a local bakery. :icon_biggrin:
-
Ah to be back in New England having breakfast again. My fiance still swears by the breakfast food in Red's Cafe, Salem. Love those 'home fries' or whatever they are called :icon_lol:
-
A few buns with home made hummus. Delicious!
-
Cornflakes and a mug of tea. It has been an uninspiring breakfast experience. Who knows what tomorrow may bring?
-
I need to get off the computer, and go make breakfast. :icon_wink: :icon_lol:
-
Sometimes I forget how good breakfast can be. This morning decided to do up some pancakes with butter and real maple syrup, wow! Add a side order of Vienna roast coffee and it just took the top spot for yumminess. :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool:
-
Christmas breakfast was unreal!
A cheese omlette slowly cooked with pepper until the egg rised in all it's fluffiness, two slices of scrapple, Vienna roast coffee black, and all natural strawberry yogurt.
Mmm, mmm, good!

You're evil man. All I had today was a Hot Dog from a Gas Station and a piece of cake. I'm fasting for the big dinner. There will be Goose on the menu!
-
Well I'm skipping lunch to have roast beef and turkey, never had goose, yet looking forward to cooking one some day. I'm told it's not easy.
Got to start the day with a good breakfast though!

It takes roughly 6 hours to make a goose but it's worth it. It's really heavy on the stomach but delicious as hell.

Your kids must have a hoot of a time! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::
I'm going to have pancakes with real maple syrup this morning, and some dark roast coffee. :icon_cool:

Nice hat.

the kids got it from Exeter Pride parade yesterday.

Two eggs over easy fried with butter and pepper, a chocolate chip scone, and coffee black.

Indoctrinating them with the homosexual agenda, that's child abuse Finlay, I'm reporting you.
-
THEY'LL CATCH THE GAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
-
Who doesn't like abusing children though? Be honest.
-
Priests?
Regarding breakfast, one of the funniest thing I saw was training your child to place their order at a cafe.
Tell them to tell the waitress in a scary, dark voice "I wish to consume the unborn!"
Ordering eggs has never sounded more horrifying.
-
MacDonald's large triple triple and a couple of mini choclatine's :)
Yes - it's a fact - Macdonald's has REALLY improved their coffee (although as my wife says, with the triple triple I could be drinking pond water and say it's good.
@warlord - I would like to be sitting a couple of tables over and witness that exchange :)
-
A big bagel with butter, 2 eggs over easy, sausage patty, and potatoes fried with onions and seasoning.
Oh, and a cup of softly flavored vanilla coffee black!
-
A healthy MacDonalds breakfast. And then I wonder why I have stomach cramps all the time...
-
@GP - that's the breakfast of dreams!!!
-
This morning at my work breakfast meeting I had the 'Tuscan Morning'
Fried eggs on a toasted cheese on Turkish bread, with tomato and fried thick slices of pancetta.
The pancetta was delicious, and went well with the cheesy Turkish.
One of the better work breakfasts I have had.
-
Okay, I'll just barge in here real quick while I finish off my coffee to slap my dick on the table.
Eggs Benedict, coffee, grapefruit juice.
BAM.
-
I made a cheese and garliced mushroom pastry with the leftovers of my pheasant stew this morning.
Pity I didn't have a glass of red wine to go with it!
Photos on facebook, by the way. :)
-
A quarter bag of M&Ms.
-
On a diet?
-
On a diet?
Lol!
French toast and coffee. Then on to the roof to install new metal roof
-
On a diet?
Yes. A diet of M&Ms.
-
French toast and coffee. Then on to the roof to install new metal roof
Dude.
-
Yeah, seriously. French toast? You want that roof to surrender?
-
Surrender it shall! My first attempt was the same day as my heart attack. Now I'm back and I'll defeat it somehow. French toast might be the answer.
-
Yeah, seriously. French toast? You want that roof to surrender?
Whats wrong with french toast?
Eggs and toast are one of the best breakfasts. Avacado is great too, but not everyone has access.
I am really enjoying my heirloom tomatoes, chilli and goats cheese on sourdough at the moment. Once a week.
-

Are you sure it's not a bit early - I thought it was a minimum 6 weeks for the ICD leads to bed into the heart muscle.
So you only have a couple of weeks grace.
-
They told me 4 weeks but I hear what your saying. I am taking it pretty easy with help and even then I'm finding it a hell of a workout I've placed lots of scaffolding and bought some interesting tools - metal shears to ease the moving of materials. And lots of breaks 😸
Feeling a bit old though. I didn't think at 52 I would creep around like my dear old dad lol.
In keeping with the thread it's Shreddies and toast and coffee this morning :)
-
You should keep it easy Artoban. My dad had a heart condition and foods like french toast, and especially coffee, were strictly off limits for him.
-
2 eggs over easy, multi grain croissant, dark roast coffee black. Hoping to have pancakes tomorrow. :icon_cool:
-
Back to real breakfast this morning, after being too ill to eat yesterday ... eggs, toast, coffee black, raspberry yogurt.
-
Sounds great! Even your ordinary breakies are awesome. If somehow sausages could be included 😺
I had a bowl of Chex cereal and tuna sandwiches are for lunch.
-
For lunch ... it's here ... http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php/topic,47627.0.html
-
Bagels with philly cream cheese, smoked salmon and capers plus coffee of course 😺
-
2 eggs, peach yogurt, and coffee black.
-
A mini pizza and a glass of chili spiced tomato juice.
-
That's and interesting one! :icon_lol:
Today so far ... raspberry shortbread cookie and pumpkin spice yogurt ... up next ... probably pancakes with real maple syrup and black coffee.
-

Yeah, and I already regret it. Or rather my stomach does. :icon_redface:
-
Bacon egg and baby spinach roll with bbq sauce.
-
Coffee, shreddies and bagels with cream cheese and avacado. This has to be my favorite fruit in the last few years. Avacado is the unsung hero of fruits and it also gives an amazing amount of daily potassium for its size. Something I'm short of all the time for some reason
-
2 eggs over easy, olive/rosemary bread for toast, black coffee, cream filled donut, and orange ginger yogurt. :icon_cool:
-
A cream filled donut for breakfast!
-
A cream filled donut for breakfast!
Living the American dream!
-
A few slices of bread with chili-spiced cheese and half a pack of toasted sunflower seeds. Went with triple strong coffee.
-
Pancakes with real maple syrup and potatoes. This morning's cup of coffee seemed just right, yum! :icon_cool:
-
Scrambled eggs, peach yogurt, and there's something so good about a nice warm cup of coffee to start the day. :icon_cool:
-
I am really enjoying my heirloom tomatoes, chilli and goats cheese on sourdough at the moment. Once a week.
Yesterday. Still loving.
3 Wholemeal Pancakes with nutella, organic strawberry jam and organic raw honey. With bananas.
-
Garlic bun and a bottle of kefir.
Welcome to the new world of eating healthy...
-
I've not had either of those.
-
I've not had either of those.
They're tasty altough I'll need to drop the bun next time. Too much fat on that one. :(
-
Fruit and nuts - particularly walnuts
-
Nothing.
Though about to buy a mocha and bacon and egg panini.
-
This morning I had a toasted sesame seed bagel with butter, and ... six slices of bacon ... bad me! :icon_lol:
-
Wholemeal bread and cottage cheese, with small kefir. I'm drinking black tea. Surprisingly tasty, altough I'll need to introduce some mild spices to this mix.
-

That actually sounds great. Although I love cottage cheese!

It was. However the wholemeal bread really needs something to improve the taste. I'm thinking citrus pepper or oregano. Maybe add some sweet red pepper to the kefir.
-
This morning's pancakes were tasty lathered in butter and maple syrup!
-
I am really enjoying my heirloom tomatoes, chilli and goats cheese on sourdough at the moment. Once a week.
Again. Yum.
Forgot to mention, it also comes with a slice of grilled haloumi.
-
Sounds yummy.
What is haloumi?
I had an omlette this morning with English cheddar, and dark roast coffee black.
-
What is haloumi?
A white cheese that has a high melting point and is therefore ideally suited to frying or grilling.
-
Haloumi is salty greek cheese, made by a combination of goats milk / sheeps milk and sometimes cows milk. My wife did an artisan foodie course about a year ago, and it requires a lot of milk and salt to make. Its very yummy though, but yeah requires bbq and frying to really release the flavour. I suggest you all try it. I forget that because my wife is a foodie and we like near a big hipster area we have a big variety of tasty food.
-
French toast bacon and Mable Syrup.
Daughters birthday treat.
-
Happy birthday V
Sunday morning pancakes and maple syrup, like every sunday for me today, just served with a large portion of hangover!
-
Me and my son just watched an episode of curious george where they made maple syrup. I had no idea and had never though about it before. Was very informative!
-
My brother makes maple syrup at his farm. Can't recall the last time I had any other syrup on pancakes or waffles than maple syrup.
-
Honey is better for you...
I like strawberry jam too, as well as nutella and sliced banana.
-
Haven't had honey on pancakes in a long time.
Strawberry jam works, although fresh fruit is also very good.
-

Every cartoon I've watched has taught me that you just pop a tap into the tree, twist the handle, and out comes syrup.

George tried using the sap first, and served it to his keeper, but it didnt go down well. So then he gestured to the farmer and the farmer helped him make actual syrup.
But yes, that is how it should work.
-
A big glass of tasty kefir. Love this stuff.
-
2 eggs over easy, strawberry yogurt, dark roasted coffee black.

If your day doesn’t start like this, you are a heretic. Think long on this

Black coffee in a black mug, oh my god! :icon_wink:
This past Sunday, I had a wonderful little breakfast of half of two scrambled eggs, warm healthy cereal with walnuts, a yogurt smoothy with freshly picked peaches, orange juice, and of course coffee black, while a good breeze swept in through an open door to a deck and the sun shined onto the side of a hill full of autumn color in Vermont, and wonderful conversation with a lady friend flowed.

Vermont! I believe that’s the on the pathway to heaven. There’s also a cheese shop in Stowe which sells this diabolical cheddar that is wrapped in a purple wax cube. Friends of ours go there every year and come back with no less then 20 cubes. One of which heads my way for my birthday. We call it the ‘Purple Cheese’ and until you have had a grilled cheese with a thick layer of this, you haven't lived properly 🧀😸

I'd gone contra dancing the night before. Hadn't been in way too many years, but that's because the last experience was the first and I was a bit clueless. This time with far more dance experience behind me than so many years ago, I was able to fit in quite a bit better. And surprisingly enjoyed it!

Call that a mug.

Damn, not being able to Bash this year is one of my biggest regrets, even for these mugs alone.

Pickled cucumber is a delicacy, at least for me. Onions are very healthy and help to stimulate your taste buds. ;)
-
Onions give me serious indigestion and heart burn.
They are my most hated food item, primarily because of their proliferation, and because of the amount of dishes they get snuck into.

I think the Egyptians worshipped them in some fashion. Because of the many layers they have, it appealed to their underworld jive.
Lay off the onion! 😺

Sourdough French toast, butter, maple syrup, French roast coffee black. :icon_biggrin:
(GP's secret ingredient ... a little bit of sugar in the egg mix.)
It's not a secret now! :icon_eek:

American pancakes, raspberries, bannanas, blueberries, maples syrup and bacon with Italian roast coffee. Same every Sunday give or take the bacon.

Combine it with a trip to the bash!

Somen nuts and a single orange. Light breakfast before large dinner. :smile2:
-
Scrambled egg, fried sausage, king trumpet mushrooms and tomatoes, with some toast. Grapefruit juice and coffee to go with it.

Sweet apple sausage omelette, a soft sugary cinnamon roll with pecans, fresh baked sourdough toast, vanilla coffee black.

Merry Christmas Midaski!

So I baked our traditional cake - tyole - a Swiss recipe handed down. Did it last year and it was fine. This year 1st batch didn’t rise and I swear if I had enough of them I could make a forge with them. 2nd batch collapsed into underbaked mayhem that would insult the birds if I gave it to them. Oh well, we’ll move on to boullets (meat balls is a chilli / grape jelly sause) and eggs, French toast.
I’m taking care of the turkey as well. I’ll let you know about the indigestible disaster later.

Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with danish loaf toast. With coffee and OJ. Traditional family Xmas breakfast.
-
Sounds good.
Today I was light on breakfast ... a slice of bread and chocolate, peace yogurt, and left over Columbian coffee from yesterday.
-
Two kiwi's and some ginger cake. Yummy.
-
Despite having come down with a cold yesterday, bringing in the New Year with a scrumptious breakfast of a sausage omelette with 2 slices of toasted and buttered honey wheat bread, and a mug of honey vanilla chamomile tea.
Then it will be time for a nap! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::
-
Sounds great. Just got up so no breakie yet.
Dirty rotten, flea bitten , no account cold is no fun at all 😾
-
Boiled eggs and soldiers with coffee. Last lazy breakfast of holiday. Back to work tomorrow so it’ll be porridge!
-
2 Monte Christo sandwiches with some cherry preserve on the side, with coffee and grapefruit juice. Probably took half a year off my remaining lifetime. Totally worth it.
-
A slice of pizza. Yummy.
-
Two eggs fried in butter, and long enough on the second side to have the yolk start to harden, a royal Riviera pear sliced thinly on the side, spicy French potatoes, refried from last night's dinner to get that extra kick, dark coffee black.
-
Can see it now - ‘Gamepoet’s Fine Eatery’ breakfast lunch and dinner 😸🍽 served to perfection.

As my Sunday morning comes to a conclusion, I was contemplating that idea of doing a restaurant, and not sure I could see myself messing with that. Making and enjoying meals is a fun necessity for me, and I'm not sure it would be a fun way of having an occupation. If I married a lady who wanted to have a café at some point, I could see myself contributing, and even being a resident waiter, seeing to it that customers had a fine experience, maintaining a close watch over other wait staff to see to it that customer service is supreme, but beyond that, don't see myself wanting to do more, although never say never.
-
Tea and Packzi! All hail Poland for these incredible donuts (or donut like pasty)
-
A classic sandwich with salami and some veggies. Good stuff.

No breakfast today, too ill. Turns out had ot go to doctor I was so bad. It's the flu. Don't think I've ever had that before, and hopefully never again.

Yeah, best of wishes to you GP! :::cheers:::

Quenoa, sauteed baby spinach, fried egg, chilli, haloumi, sourdough toast.
Yum.

Two eggs over easy and dark black coffee.

Wheatbread sandwiches, cottage cheese with herbs and a cup of tea. Really tasty and really healthy!

Today I had a slice of pizza, two pastries filled with fruit and a tasty juice. :-P
-
I had two eggs left but one of them broke before it made it out of the carton, so only one fried egg for me today!
A few sausages on the side, peach yogurt, too. :icon_cool:
-
Had a wicked good omelette this morning with cheddar cheese inside, yum!
My coffee seemed very warming in these frigid cold temperatures. I love a good cup of coffee in the morning. :::cheers:::

Had a friend of mine who visited London England last week, and he brought back a small gift from a visit to Fortnum & Mason ... a wonderful water bottle that a person can use for hot or cold drinks, an aqua green color that I've considered using on my Tau (if I ever get around to painting them ... lol ... which is I suppose better than getting a round tuit ... oh know, not the puns here too!), and ... a small tin of Buttery Oat Biscuits.
The latter I am having for breakfast this morning with a good strong cup of Seattle Style Dark coffee made by a company called Wide Awake Coffee Co. Not the same as the Brits with there tea and crumpets, but just the same as ... wicked good! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::
Those biscuits have been so yummy that it'd be easy to eat all of them up, but I've saved some for another day. Although not sure it'll be too far off ... lol.

Up wicked early this morning. The humid weather has caused uncomfortable sleeping. Decided on an early does of W-E. :icon_mrgreen: :icon_lol:
Strawberry yogurt, english muffin with butter, black coffee. :icon_cool: :::cheers:::

Had an unusual one this morning ... Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli and a homemade herb flavored biscuit.

That sounds positively delicious.

I'd never had Chef Boyardee beef ravioli. When I ordered food last week, I had three cans of it accidentallly in with my order. I called the delivery service to let them know, although never heard back. It has been a week, so time to give it a try, and it wasn't bad.

The other day I used the pancake flour that I purchased from George Washington's Grist Mill.
The Mount Vernon gift shop has a recipe for making pancakes with it, and they were scrumptious! :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::
-
Two eggs sunny side up, scrapple (oh so bad for me ... lol), all cooked in olive oil, a dash of pepper, and served with leftover champagne from last night's New Year's Eve snacks.
:icon_mrgreen: :engel: :::cheers:::

Blue Velvet coffee black, and an apple turnover.

That’s not breakfast mate!
2 over easy, sausages, home fries, toast, fried red tomatoes, pancakes and a side of spinach and cheese quiche. Plus a litre of coffee with vanilla cream.
That’s breakfast!
Till you die of course
Not to be eaten on a daily basis btw 😺

Lol! Well does adding grapefruit juice and oatmeal bread with raspberry blossom honey count? :icon_wink: :icon_mrgreen:

Load it up!
Of course this is my fantasy 1st breakfast at 7 am in my country manor while I contemplate the tragedy of humanity.
I actually had 2 yogurts and 2 cups of coffee.

Is that place for sale? Looks awesome!
2 cups of coffee? Must have been a rough morning. I rarely have two cups, maybe a second cup later in the day, but very rarely 2 cups in the morning.

This is tintin’s Marlinspike Hall. I have loved this place since 1975 when I started reading the series. It is based on the actual Chateau de Cheverny. Now that’s my idea of a home. Entitlement and all.

Where is Marlinspike located? If it even exists, perhaps this is just a virtual picture. Either way, both places look breakfast outside on the walk.

Marlinspike is the hall in which Captain Haddock inherited/bought back. It belonged to his ancestor. Total fiction by Herge and incorporated into the Tintin comic series. He lifted the hall right out off of the original Chateau but took away the 2 wings at each end to make it look more like a country home (!).

Had a Red's canadian bacon, egg, and 3 cheese burrito.
It claims to have 18 grams of protein, but I have no clue as to why that is written on the front of the package. It was made from pork raised without antibiotics, and cage free eggs. Hopefully that's healthy.
It was yummy! :icon_biggrin: :icon_lol:

BREKKIES
I've been keeping track of what I'm eating. Too many fats and too few proteins. Annoying!

But really good 😺

Scrambled eggs and toast this morning, the latter with autumn style marmalade jam. :icon_biggrin:
-
The second half of a cinnamon pastry, and dark roast coffee. The former from a local bakery, the latter from Peet's Organic Alma De La Tierra.
-
Just a thought, but isn’t posting about ones breakfast much the same as photographing it and putting it on instagram?
-
Realize Insta exists, but that is about the extent of my awareness of it.

Reheated french fries in olive oil and pepper, with two fried eggs. Yummy! :icon_biggrin:

Had left over garlic mashed potatoes made into patties with two fried eggs, and a slice of lightly toasted multi grain bread with butter. :icon_mrgreen:

Two eggs over easy and dark roast coffee. :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::

This morning ... made biscuits and scrambled eggs with orange juice. :icon_biggrin:
