'A' is for 'Altdorf'... learn about the many provinces of the Empire!
For steveb,I think this is what your asking for.His humble biginnings... the bannerand the wire reins...
Finally finished...... The Battle Standard Bearer of Arch Lector Kaslain durring his Stirland campiagn
Heres how he is looking today.
Here he is with a new hammer. Any better?
Time for another update. I did more Chainmail work (still not done) and added a shoulder guard to the AL. Maybe a few other things also.Edit: I trimmed the front blanket so it looks better now The front blanket arounf the horses legs will have chainmail covering most of it, just like the back.I dont know if I'll make a matching shoulder guard for the other arm or something else..... It 'll be hard to make a matching one because his arm is raised, but not imposible. I think.
Finally.... finished. We need an out of breath smiley Here he was.....And here he is...I would really like to thank everyone for all of your comments, input, and suggestions They really helped so keep them coming!
I dont know about you guys but I bought the new empire character kit more or less for the horse alone, and seeing as how the empire general is not going to see much command time I though an Arch Lector was the more suitable rider.First I removed the Karl Franz writing & the silly moon. Then the Lector was made from a Brettionian lord with the hammer courtesy of a chaos playing friend (dont know what model)His cloak is from Zacharias the Everliving (I put a Blood Dragon on my Zombie Dragon ) Now the character on foot, not needing a Captain on foot (mine rides a Pegasus) I thought the big hammer was a good start for a Priest.Add a little green-stuff for decoration and hey presto.
Greetings all, I've been frequenting these forums for a while and finally decided to register!I've embarked on a long project that I have had in the back of my mind for over a year. I spoke little of it to anyone and just let it brood inside of me. At last, my ideas are beginning to take shape. So I'm creating a themed Sigmarite Empire army that is from Talabheim. The army list will include only Warrior Priests as characters, and the troops will include no less than two large blocks of Flagellants, blocks of swordsmen, and units of White Wolf Knights and Great Swords to round out the heavy hitters. I won't take any handgunners, crossbowmen, cannons, or missile weapons of any type, only large blocks of Sigmarite warriors. Not a tournament-winning list, I'm well aware, however I believe it will be a lot of fun to play! Basing-wise [is that even a word?], I was inspired by a fantastic theme by Bane from The Glass Cabinet (http://warhammer.org.uk/PhP/viewtopic.php?t=28189&start=0&sid=2917f8735f872ea9abc35784261a7f78)and I will be doing something similar. The idea is that the Talabheim forces are retaking an old Sigmar monastery in the northern kingdom that has since gone to ruin due to invasions of the northern chaos hoards.Without further ado, I present my first model which I created to represent either Luthor Huss, or a Warrior Priest mounted on a barded warhorse. Thanks for looking, and more updates soon to come!
Latest addition to the army : Mounted warrior priest nr 2. He's intended as an apprentice of the first....
With the national painting contest coming up I decided to start something a bit different for my entry into the single model category. Here is a pic of a conversion I'm working on at the moment. The conversion is inspired by warseer's Dark Apostle's tremendous piece in the general painting forum though with a bit of variation.I loved the idea of a crazed wanderer preaching doom and destruction across the small villages and backroads of the Empire, perhaps an excomunicated warrior priest gone mad or a rouge wizard who's read a little too much from some contraband books. Hope to have him painted up over the next week or so.Let me know what you think.Cheers,Dante
Well its been a while but here are some final finished pictures of this model.Bit rushed in the end so didn't do everything to quite the level I would have liked but still pleased with the results. Anyway, let me know what you think.Cheers,Dante

Does this count? He is basically Luthor Huss without the blindfolded horse head. Instead a skull from the Chaos Marauders banner was glued to to an ordinary horse head. The purity seals and scrolls are made of thin card and greenstuff. The banner is from the Goblin Wolfriders kit, the banner's "frame" is thin copper pipe and the skull/fluffy thing decorations are from the same Chaos Marauder banner as the horse's skull.-SirU
Well, now I have to come up with something for my General. Currently I am planning to to take Valent on foot and remove the eagle from his shoulder. I will then take a wolf head from a priest of Urlic and put that on his shoulder. The cloak will then be made to look like fur. I'll post more as I paint them.
Hihere's my converted Warroir Priest of Sigmar for my Hochland army in progress.Which hammer do you think is better?I can't decide. Obviously in this case size matters but isn't this one just too big?smaller hammerThanks for any comments.CheersCC
