The best part? The developer said there would be Bretonnian ships. :::cheers:::

I need to become a video game player. All the best GW ever did are in that format now. Blood Bowl, Mordheim, Man O' War... Is Necromunda next?

Is Mordheim (video game) any good?

I've heard good things. Our 12 year old desktop won't run it, and we didn't shell out the kind of money we would have needed to for the laptops to be any good for games.

There's a BFG game in development, WH total war, and space hulks games have been made.

seems like GW want to licence out all the old IP.

Makes sense, if they're not making models for it.

I don't care about the rules.

Its not finish yet, but it is pretty fun. It isn't an exact port of the game mechanics, but uses some of them. I think it is going to end up being cool.

Ah, some dwarven gameplay footage.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=4&rct=j&q=total%20war%20warhammer%20hands%20on&ved=0CCQQtwIwA2oVChMI1r2X6JP8xwIVxvMeCh3fBwrL&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DauTVOSoN2_k&usg=AFQjCNFzhdv6de4fQaMprrbpGg91Q_p0QA

Also, one lad on the TW forums claimed to have a legitimate map from the game. Bretonnia is indeed on it, along with Estalia, Kislev and Tilea.

I thought the Thorgrim trailer was pretty good myself. Dwarfs have always been a favorite of mine.

I agree. I would totally start a Dwarf army if I could find somewhere still playing the old game.

The underground battles look really good. I just hope there will be bigger model diversity. So far every single Slayer looks the same. I know, I know - pre-alpha and all that, but still...

if you watch the interview I posted it gives a list of what the game will have, hope to have, and the expansions it plans on bring to the table (console) The game is due out 2016 sometime, will have four armies initially with two more expansions coming later on to add more of the map and armies. The first armies will be Empire, Green skins, Vampire Counts, and Dwarfs.

Well it is high fantasy compared to their earlier works. (Though they went ludicrous a few times with the Colossus and Geisha assassinations.)

Anyway, while we're celebrating this Total War goodness, the TWW forum is seeing alot of anger and "F U, CA!" from the fans for confirming that the first game won't have naval combat, actual handheld banners and dismountable cavalry during a battle. How will we ever enjoy the game without our troops waving around flags and a landlocked map? :icon_rolleyes:

Yes but in it's core it always was (no longer is :( ) a Low Fantasy game, even if GW forgot that in it's later stages.

As for people whining - it's a given in this kind of project. Fortunately I'm not sitting on their forums, but those arguments are just laughable. Of course I would like to see naval battles and an option for dismounting cavalry is nice, but I'm more interested in the rightful depiction of the Warhammer world. If they'll screw that up, then no ammount of decent gameplay designs will save this title.

Hopefully this Total War game will be successful so we'll see the old game live on that way.  It looks good so far.  It's encouraging to see the Specialist Games live on in this way, and even still have their cult followings.
