DoS 2 made some questionable decisions regarding combat in my opinion but overall it's a very fun game. Co-op it was even better in my opinion so you should be fine too. As for fights, try to look for enemies of your own level at first they will be much more manageable than ones over yours. Even 1 level can be quite the difference. Failing that perhaps try to upgrade your gear, it also has a huge impact.

Thanks for the advice,  we spent a chunk of time today wandering around making slight improvements to our armour and whilst it didn't seem like much of an upgrade we've started narrowly winning some fights we didn't expect to!  It's probably good they're so close for excitement but it's also pretty tense!

Aldaris, the armor tip is starting to make a lot more sense now too.  Right now we seem to have settled into a battle wizard,  a ranger,  red prince in fight mode and louse in wizard mode so I guess pretty much going 50/50.

Just got Divinity,  original sin 2 for the ps4 because not only is it fantasy,  it's also split screenable so we can actually play together.

So far we've been pretty bad at it and keep getting into fights where we're quickly overwhelmed. That's probably good though as it means we're going to have to use our brains and bide our time which hopefully will be more satisfying in the long run.

It's nice to be able to play a game with someone in the same room again though!

My all time crowning Warhammer moment was a few years back when I managed to kill Tyrion with one shot of a hobgoblin bolthrower. In fairness, the guy I was playing was so distraught that he forgot to use that thing that can bring him back to life... but for 40 points of pathetic warmachine it was quite the catch....

Made up for all those times he thrashed me with his banks of H.Elf repeaters in one swift moment  :biggriin:

I have a really bad memory but I'll never forget that moment.  :-P

They must have some bird watchers at wizards,  hoopoes aren't exactly well known. I approve!

Has there already been a long conversation in here about Overwatch? I'm late to the party as usual...

Been playing it the last couple of weeks though and really enjoying it more than I thought I would. Current favorite characters, tracer, widow, dva, mercy.

Also played some Zelda. To be honest just running around and enjoying the world is pretty satisfying. I'm not too bothered about ganon.  :-P

I'm wondering if down the line they'll make it linkable. Looks pretty epic though, makes me miss the old world even more!

I've been watching person of interest lately. I like the lead characters in it (mostly played pretty dry) and the over arching plot. Didn't really expect to like it with it coming out amongst the chain of dodgy stuff that has come out recently.

I listen to this podcast, good interview with a bit of a legend.

I heard it a few weeks ago so I forget the ins and outs but there were definite admissions of failure amongst the talk of success. Either way it's nice that gw continues to try to become a more community involved company after the crazy few years they seemed to decide they didn't like their customers.

Guys behind Mordheim: City of the Damned are now making Necromunda: The Underhive Wars. As a huge fan of this franchise, I'm psyched. Finally I'll be able to deploy my Orlock gang on a virtual tabletop.

Agreed. I'm really hopeful they learned some stuff from mordheim's criticisms and make a great game!

Nice. I like bits and pieces of his from all over but I probably prefer the 80s stuff too overall.

I actually enjoyed enterprise too, though it's hard to deny it all get maybe a touch too over reaching? I did really enjoy the whole thing with the race of different animal types and such though and how can you not love bakula?

Yeah mulgrew was good but they definitely wrote her making done odd choices. Neelix is a big pity. I actually think he could have been a great character considering his empathy, wartime experience and wheeler dealer trickster knowledge. Unfortunately they relegated him to comic relief mostly and not good comic relief like the doc's huge ego. The guy is a pretty good actor too which makes it all the more a pity.

From what I can tell, beltran just got more and more underused and was upset by it so kinda went into coasting mode. It would have been much more interesting if they had kept some of the maquis fire in him but after a few episodes they decided he should be janeways loyal puppy.

As people here are more into ds9, was anyone else a dukat fan? I loved garek of course, but I really enjoyed the way that dukat basically got to be the exact opposite, outwardly villainous but with a secret and complicated moral side.

Talking of watching star trek, I'm towards the end of rewatching voyager.

I know it's not universally liked and they definitely could have done so much better had they have taken a ds9 approach to story arcs but for what it is I have a soft spot for it.

It's hard to deny that it also gets a lot better a couple of seasons in when they ditch kes and bring in seven. People often focus on the possibly more cynical view of why they changed them out, but honestly the seven progression of story and just overall ability to act is so much more compelling.

I kinda wish they had access to the tng crew in these days of complex story arcs with some great writers. They had an amazing cast there who sadly had to do a lot of pretty dodgy shows with a few standout ones here and there.

What's happened to you!?

There's not a lot of tweaks, so I hear.

That's probably a good thing as whilst the races are not balanced, the core rules are pretty solid.

Been listening to a few of the new Metallica tracks and I'm reasonably hyped about the new album. Having been a long time fan of them, I've actually stepped back from listening to them at all recently, probably just overload.

That said, unlike most people I've actually enjoyed a fair few tracks from both their recent albums. Looks like they've stepped it up again here.

The one I most life right now is 'confusion'. Great vid too.

I'm kind of expecting a big metallica suck backlash now...  :-P

Hoping that with the re-release of Blood Bowl I'll get back in to that and table top gaming.  I play board games now mostly.

What do you mean "get back into it"? Does our half a game every two years not count as consistent play?

That's pretty amusing.

Plus is he really even right? Technically, however low the odds, it's possible that infinite shuffling would not put the card on the top.

If he's calling a judge I'm assuming it's a competitive game in which case time may be called before he completes what he wants, making a tie. In that sense, you sorta can't blame the other guy if he's looking like losing.

That with something that bumps it out and into play...Just mean

Can reyhan go in the atraxa deck as a regular card. Seems like it could be handy.

Breya as the general of an artifact deck gives you super options what with having that red too.

This four color thing is really going to expand long held limitations.

For the record, if I ever get round to getting back on gccg, atraxa will be my general. Aside from having life link, it allows me to combine my two three favorite decks into one -life gain, artifacts, tokens! Plus that card just seems way too good even by itself.

I've not found a suitable gobbo either in terms of bits bashing, right now I'm using the super old uni pose gobbo spearman without his spear!

There are a lot of goblin minis out there though from various companies, there's gotta be a good one if you're willing to buy a complete model rather than make your own.
