I think you're right about the hat. Theres an awful lot of blue down the middle of the model making it hard for the eye to distinguish the seperate parts of the model. I would either go black or maybe the bone colour you used on the shirt for the hat. You'd have to be careful if you went with the bone as it might blur into the flesh.

what this post needs is some more acronyms...

I would go with the straight black hat with subtle gray highlights but YMMV.

I'm not completely sold on the hat color, but it does brighten it up without over powering it like it would if you went with any lighter color. The black was too dark and brooding. I like that the face is still obscured in shadow and is indistinct. It's very appropriate for the model.

i have to say that the AOV sculpts are sub standard,

i thought the same of their wp.

The detail on the robe is really badly sculpted , and the model in general isn't up to par
