This rushed release schedule, with dataslates, small (read, crappy) supplementary codexes and so on is a really huge change to GW’s marketing and really, their whole business model.
You guys probably are, but are you realising how big this is?

So far I personally feel as if it is failing, as I dislike the balance problems of dataslates, and inherently hate the idea of over priced small crappy supplementary codexes (srsly, what was even the point of the inquisition one?). Why are they releasing renamed IG and a shitty supplementary codex at the same time? Intensely dislike the idea of that.

On the other hand, I feel the weekly releases did actually work for the dwarfs, despite my initial reservations/moans, and my weekend of 40king has totally re-enthused me on that front. I desperately would like to get a beast unit and chronos/talos painted up for Belgium.

If GW fuck this up it might actually seriously fuck them up.

Is that a gun turret that is blocked from rotating left by an unnecessary hatch?

Look from a tourney player side it's bad. We're having to introduce restrictions on what people can bring and some tournies are even doing comp again, which was gone for quite a while.

That's really frustrating because we don't want to have to write new rules just to play a decent game. On 3++ a writer attended an "all in" tournament and wrote up his report, which makes for sad reading. http://www.3plusplus.net/2014/03/escalation-tournament-report-this-is-why-we-cant-have-nice-things/

In a pick up game it would be a nightmare to keep track of everything. I'm certainly not shelling out for every crappy bit of DLC (because that's what this is, microtransaction/DLC imported to table top gaming) just so I know what the inbred basement dweller opposite is trying to cheat with. Which is why I don't do pick up games, incidentally.

I don't mind the weekly release thing, all good. I just wish they'd pay more attention to rules, but the positive is that they're now so half assed the community may as one agree on a 'tournament format' with modifications as a sort of new standard, which would solve a lot of problems. The need is finally undeniably there.

The tonka truck oddly looks more at home in the Empire army than it does the guard.  Is that a griffon I see on the door?

Guard will need a full vehicle redsign to make that fit in with the far more "realistic" looking existing range.

Honestly, if they had given it one big track or wheels, it would look worlds better.  Even sitting it lower with the four tracks would have been better.

Change the wheels, choose a better colour scheme, fix the turret so it isn't completely non-functional as a turret = improvement!

Though it would still look more like something a police state would use on their own citizens than a military vehicle.

Also, I hate those storm troopers and their stupid hats.

The berets?  Thats a nod to the original stormtroopers plastics from back in the mid nineties I think.   I dont actually mind them  :-)

I can’t really see the STs but I think I really hate them. As in, the worst models GW have put out for a while.

I love the storm troopers.  They look ace.  There are three sets of heads in the kit apparently.  One is the beret's, one is traditional storm troopers, I guess there is another.

I was so looking forward to some Finlay hate regarding that vehicle.
I'll compensate!

What the GW creative team has just made is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in their amateurish, deluded design process could they have even come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having seen it. I will pay no amount for this kit, and may God have mercy on their souls.

Those troopers are ok, not as bad as I thought.

Not as good as current STs or Kasrkin though.

The leader dude has a ridiculous pose and cape. He really is shit.

I believe that is the commander bit.

They care better than the current st, about the same as kasrkin.

I don't mind those stormtroopers, as they at least look like they fit in with the guard army.

The cloak looks similar to the plastic chaos lord from the main box set doesn't it?

Aaaaand - more leaks.

http://www.natfka.blogspot.de/2014/03/leaked-images-of-horus-and-ogryns-are.html#comment-form

Horus, Ogryns, and a Hydra.

I like Horus a lot, great model! Especially the face. He looks regal and handsome, the Emperors chosen all right.

The Ogryns... they look so... clean? And un-Ogryn-ish? I kind of dig the armored ones and the one with the cigar, but the ones with the t-shirt look... not so much.
Perhaps it's the paint job? I really WANT to like them. I'm just not sure I can... someone say positive things to push me over the "dig them" line!

The Hydra looks like a Hydra. Job done. The open turret with a gunner is a nice touch though.

I LOVE Horus.

I can't see the ogryn.  Can someone post a link to the photo into here?  The one you linked just shows goopy junk.

Very nice.

Really like horus.
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!
