Topic: Empire Branch of the CoL Arena of Death

Emperor Karl Franz was touring the festivites of the event.  The real important battles would not come for a while, as these rounds were just to determine the rankings for the elimination event.  Elector Counts, Wizards, and Priests from all around the Empire gathered to see their finest soldiers, and to find out who would represent them at the main arena in Bretonnia, where the Concalve of Light meets.

A young squire runs into the Emperor's room with a scroll:

"Attention all leaders, and most noble Emperor.  The first round as follows:

Defender of Ulthuan vs. EC.Sylvania
Feanor vs. Rufus
Grutch vs. Rior 2nd
WARRIOR2006 vs. Gyro LC
st1v xtr1m recieves the round 1 bye

EC.Sylvania defeated the Defender of Ulthuan 3 wounds to none
Rufus defeated Feanor 3 wounds to none
Grutch wins the match 4 wounds to 2
Warrior wins a gruesome 11 turn match 3 wounds to 2!
And the soldier with the bye shall fight the in the next round, which is:

Had the Defender of Ulthuan ever defended the folk of Sylvania, the Elector Count would have deffered to a friend of the people. Alas, he never had, and worse, made it clear he never would.

The people of Sylvania rejoice at the victory but dare not become to loud. Loud voices have a way of becoming strangely silent in Sylvania. With heavy hearts and desperate eyes they cling to the hopes of greater victories to come so that, Sigmar be blessed, their plight may be lessened.

st1v xtr1m ~ I chose your templar b/c there is no magic ... a mage would have gotten raped.  And I'm not sure what you mean by challenges, its just preset 1 on 1 action.

As for more detail: These are the preliminary rounds, not the elimination exciting rounds.  These rounds only determine seeding in the major part of the tournament.  I am running AoDs on this site, bugman's, ulthuan, TPV2 and the CoL site, so as much as I would love to post more detail, I do not have time.

Though no worries, when the elimination bracket starts, there will be awesome stories for you guys

i hope im not the only one who is completely confused here what exactly is this for? even the people being represented in these battles I don't think are really sure whats going on.  how are these battles being worked out?  correct me if im wrong but... never mind ill shut up now... but im still confused...

Then he maybe battles the two heros together then see who wins?

Then what magic items we have choosen(has to be legal)
Then I would have....

Elven Steed.
Blade of Sea Gold
Armor of Protection.
Enchanted Shield..

Thus giving me a
2+A/s and 4+ ward.
And the Blade allows no armor saves..

That being said..
Just bring it!!!
     

P.S Who wants some of the Defender of Ulthuan... Ask your self this....

Rior the 2nd versus Rufus Sparkfire

Two grandmasters strode onto the field. They charged in at one another, magical equipment accompanying their mighty full plate armor. The two clashed at the center of the arena. Sweat began to drip off their faces and onto their armor and as they parried and thrusted ontop of their horses. The crew would follow the battle, yelling and sighing with each close blow. Finally Rior's horse reeled up on its back legs and landed back down partially on Rufus's horse. Distracted by the move, Rufus was caugh unaware as Rior slashed down at his chest. It was a mortal wound, and Rufus could not continue any longer.

These two contestants were regarded as the misfits of the emprie tournament ,as one was an elector count and the other a grand wizard. The two charged in on their horses and met with a furt of swords battle. The famous runefang glowed brilliantly, and it appeared to be a quick victory for the Elector until the wizard pulled out a small trinket. "Van Hortmans Speculum," the count gasped as they fought. The elector found himself growing somewhat weaker, but just barely. Even with the change in strength, he found himself able to wield his Runefang, and he brought it down on his opponent, slicing clean through his arm and into his torso.
