Apart from warlord model's shotte and pike range of winged polish cavalry which I find are a bit small - does anyone now an alternative range of winged lancers - need to buy a tonne of knights and want to make a winged lancers theme - but I don;t want to pay the exorbitant fees on ebay for out of production winged lancers models (that I don't really rate). I need heroic scale 28mm models. Does anyone know any model range I can chase for these?

There are a range of companies that just make the wings. So if you liked a mounted hussar or light / medium cavalry unit, you could buy those wings and stick em on the backs for instant winged lancers.
-
Foundry do some but they are not 'heroic' size, and not that cheap either.

If I recall correctly, The Assault Group.
Ah yes ... http://www.theassaultgroup.co.uk/product/polish-winged-hussar-unit-builder-box-set/
Figures can be ordered in groups of three as well as the unit set linked.

oops, only read answers, not OP. Nothing to see here ... I'm off now.

Here is a picture of some of The Assault Group figures painted ...

By the way, not sure these are "heroic" 28mm.

TAG (The Assault Group) stuff is not heroic - it is historical size and similar to Foundry or Warlord Games.
Good stuff though - I have a lot of their excellent Tudor models.

this. Empire pistoliers make a good base model. Heroic sized horses for sure. Maybe Bretonnian lances.

Forgot about these ...

... although Old Glory is more 25mm than 28mm.
And Essex has these ...

... yet again, more 25mm.

I used to have a DBR renaissance Polish army, and I thought some of the hussars were from Redoubt, but the horses didn't looks this weedy:

I think the important part of using any historical miniatures with WFB & other "heroic" fantasy minis is the size of the horses. So if you can get some big horses, I think a lot of the historical minis will look OK (provided they fit on the horses...)

There was a polish company doing a fantasy version Mtd and dismtd I seem to remember but cannot find them on the net.
Here's an suitable ogre :

I would also recommend Pistoliers as a very nice base model, but I am curious as to the alternative Wing makers as I have searched for those before without success. Could you suggest anything Warlord?
-
Maximini makes Hussar Wings, 6.99 $ for a set of six. I've got them, and they're very nice resin pieces.

Pistoliers is a good idea, along with Maximini Hussar wings which I can also recommend. All you need now is for Karak Norm Clansman to do a tutorial on green-stuff chainmail.

These might be ok too.

They have a variety of actual Hussars and Cossacks as well which might take your fancy?
