Topic: Brand New to Empire 3k (team games)

Hi! Im new to Warhammer-empire and to playing Empire in general.
I started Empire because my gaming group plays very large games at my house and I dont have an Order army. We roll off for teams and then teams roll off between playing Order and disorder. So anyway... this army will be almost exclusively played in teams with one or more other 3k armies, large 6K-12K games are FUN! So I need suggestions/help. Please no Steam tank, have to have a dispell scroll or team mates will kill me. Other than that please help, if I need it.

Anyway. This is my current list...

Arch Lector, War Alter, Armour of Destiny
Level 4 Wizard, Cloak of Urlic, Fencer's Blades (Lore of Life or Death)

Captain, BSB, FPA, Barded Horse, Shield, Talisman of Preservation
Level 2 Wizard, Dispell Scroll (lore of Shadow, light, or Beast)
Master Engineer
Witch Hunter, Brace of Pistols

47 Halberdiers, Full Command (Lvl4, Witch Hunter)
9 Inner Circle Knights, Full Command, Steel Banner (BSB)
20 Handgunners (or Crossbows, I don't really know which), Banner, Muscian (Lvl 2)

Great Cannon
5 Outriders, Muscian
3 Demigryphs, Full Command
3 Demigryphs, Full Command

2 Hellstorm Rocket Batteries
1 Hellblaster Volley Gun (Master Engineer)
Luminark of Hysh

right:
for a 3k army you're very very light on bodies.
i field more than that at 1500 and still struggle against some opponents.
i would advise looking at your army in this way:
-what units are going to fight in the frontlines?
-what units are going to support those that fight?
look at the ratio of fighters to supporters and when you start getting above 1:3 you really need to start thinking about why you have them.

as it stands, you have literally 2 combat units. knights and halberds. knights are fine, but have many weaknesses, and if your halberds die/run your line is screwed.
demi's at 3 strong are a flanking unit, hence support. shooters and chariots are support, characters are support.

strip out some toys, you dont need both buff-wagons. you dont need a witch hunter. you dont need full command on the griffs (just muso is fine for flanking), you could easily get away without having both 'gunners and 'riders.
put these points into another decent combat capable unit and your lines will be a lot stronger.

You make some great points. here is a new list.  I really think that in the games i will be playing using the luminark, hurricanum, and war alter will really help the team. The buff rules for these state that they affect each FRIENDLY unit within 6'', helping out the other armies on my team. And i like them...

Dropped the cannon, demigryph banners/champs, witch hunter, and hand gunners. got more halbrediers, changed bsb to on foot
