Hair to Die For!
« on: April 24, 2017, 09:53:54 AM »
I think (although I am still not sure) I may have invented a new (?) way of doing hair. Admittedly, I can only make crazy hair this way, but I never claimed to be a stylist, and besides, this is what my own hair actually looks like so it’s karma or zeitgiest or habitual or something else stream of conciousness.

Technique = pin drilling plastic sprues to create curly/wavy strands ...

Then cut them into bits (very fiddly), then blob glue into a head - I chose an entirely bald head for my first transplant operation but you could go for extensions instead -then gently press one end of the strands, one strand at a time, into the blob. Then brush (squash) into place for that just stepped out of the salon look ...

If it's been done before, I apologise for this post, and the next. But I know you guys are always after tips for your hair.

Finally, the results ...

I can’t decide if it worked well or not. I thought they would look somewhat more hairy!

IMO the hair look really nice. It's also because of the paintjob of course, but yeah - they're cool. :)

I think it worked great, and is a good scale for the minis. I may have to "borrow" this technique in the future...

I can see it better on the painted model. I couldn't visualise it properly on the grey. I think it looks great actually.
