I always found the 7th ed VC army really balanced if you wanted to make your army themed around one particular bloodline.
The OP builds generally took the most powerful unit (blood knights) and a bunch of other strong combos in the one list. Stick to a theme and you can have a lot of balanced fun.

The most broken armybooks for 7th ed were Demons snd Skaven.

I hate people who don't paint their armies, hate them with all my guts. Beats me how they value other things over painting, like eating or brushing teeth.

I once beat Daemons in 7th.  Once.

Skaven? Ya must be imagining things, they don't exist. :icon_wink:

Yep, ratmen - these vile creatures are just fairy tales. No one ever seen a Skaven.

Back to comparison of 6th vs 7th Empire armybook. After few games against other 7th ed armies, I just feel 6th ed Empire is more balanced and more powerful in general. I have a feeling that every 7th ed codex is stronger and more powerful than Empire; High Elves and Dark Elves especially.

Wouldn't be surprised.  Saw a ranking of the rulebooks one time, believe it was done via tourney results.  Unfortunately can't recall much of anything, except 7th edition Daemons and rat creatures were nasty, but I think we're walking over well tread ground. :icon_mrgreen:
