They're from deep cut studios

PVC is 40 euros, mouse mat is 50 euros. I think Fridays is mouse mat?

There's a ten percent black Friday code atm.
But the mats are 4x4, I've emailed for a price for 6x4.

A planet-sized winery sounds pretty cool.

Phr wip. Not overly happy. One is several watered down layers green over a silver base. The other is a light green edge highlight, blended with green ink.

The stripes also a bit rubbish, hard to get the tape flat on the curved and ridged hull.

"Hi, Finlay

Thanks! Our orbital mats are designed only for 4x4 feet. I can take a piece of it and scale it up to 6x4. Some quality loss can occur. Price for it 75 Eur (67,5 Eur with discount) + 15 Eur shipping."

hmm, works out at £70, plus "some quality loss".

or just get a 4x4 one for £51.

I gave up painting my phr, I just found getting a flat, uniform colour on those hulls really difficult. Might have another go soon. You look to have done a good job with that Finlay.

Do a chumley and build up the colour in layers of ink. You'll get the flat finish then.
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

I don't like the sound of quality loss. High risk of disappointment!

I'd either get a 4x4 one or look elsewhere.

dont think there are any 6x4 on the market yet.

maybe i should get a 4x4 to see us over.
people think that size is ok up to about 1250.

some people think its ok for 1500 too...

Do a chumley and build up the colour in layers of ink. You'll get the flat finish then.
I did this with Scourge, but i think i'm too impatient. it's always a bit blotchy. Masked on the scourge by the gold drybrush and black ink over the top.

I think I either need to add a more vivid highlight if highliting them, or go for green ink layers over a silvery spray to try and get a metallic green finish.
I think the stripes didn't work so might just leave them! At the moment I think they look totally unfinished. Maybe finishing the silver and the tail panels will massively help, like doing bases on a 40k model...

It's really tempting me to buy an airbrush!

someone on the FB group posted this

simple flat metallic colour, with contrasting tail panels. it looks decent!

For a moom, yes. Not a planet, the craters are to big.

Look good though. Just go with a 4x4 matt. It's plenty to begin with.

better?

still feel likes its missing something- need's something on the broadside and also at the front of the hull. Maybe I need a little stencil and just do a black or red design?

Yes, that looks nice!

Put some more blue on the silver bits on the sides, and a few stripes or something on the green bit? Those models are a bit too smooth really. It's hard to make them look spaceship-sized.

Like rufus said some blue on the side silver bits.

Are there any transfers you could use, nice flat surfaces for them?

That's a good shout! I could utilise some eldar or dark eldar transfers. I think plopping a transfer on the front with some blue on the sides would finish it off.

Aldaris prefers the first 2 green ones, but I think the inked one is nicer.

The inked one is better. Have you got any yellow ink? You could do a 50/50 mix with green ink and highlight the leading edges. Let it dry, then do a yellow only highlight at the edges. It'll lift the colour. I'd water the ink down with 20% water to to ease the transition. Finally a 50/50 watered down gloss nuln oil to finish and glaze them.
Also on transfers I put a coat of 'ard coat over them to seal them on prior to the last ink wash.

thanks, I was unsure how to add highlights to it, but more ink seems a decent shout.

i've got blue, green, red, purple ink, plus nuln gloss.

I'm concerned nuln will darken it too much. Maybe doesn't matter.

NUln oil will darken it but water it down first, that will limit the darkening.
To highlight you need a yellow ink really. You might have to pop to gw.
