knights of the Empire books on the GW site
« on: February 27, 2019, 07:54:10 AM »
I just noticed that a Knights of the Empire book(s) is on sale on the GW site.
It is like 2 books with a bunch of stories in them.

I've only bought one novel from GW a number of years ago for 40k and it was ok.
Any feedback on tge fantasy novels?
Its only 25$ so i might get it.

It includes Reiksguard, Hammers of Ulric, and Knights of the Blazing Sun if I recall as well as a collection of stories about the Knights of Manaan that I've not read. Those novels are all fine reasonably good for being well WHFB novels, I think Blazing Sun is perhaps best just for the interesting different story take.

Does anyone think it ironic that GW are still promoting the Fantasy old world that they cancelled   :engel:

Do you think it is guilt ................. or maybe a way to make more money  :closed-eyes:

A way to make money, and/or give long time readers a chance to read books they might have missed back when they were first released.

i don't think it's guilt, but perhaps a response to the last big customer survey.

They own the licence to Warhammer: Total War, which is set in the Old World. They would be stupid not to sell books to gamers who play in the Old World. It's very very easy and cheap to take a new print run of old books.

They did print a couple of new stories set in the Old world in the first of the new version of Inferno.  It wouldn't surprise me though if they were half done leftovers that had been dropped 4 years ago, and then finished off again to get content for Inferno.

If I want to read these books/stories, and there are a few that might be good, I won't be buying them from GW.  :icon_mrgreen:
