"pro built/base coat"  :icon_lol:

I think the next step is to sell something that is still sealed in shrink wrap as "pro stored."

I clicked this link. The seller reposted it. It sold for a dollar.

What a great offer!
RRP £25.99 - but now (only!) £32.97 ... that's what it really says.

Even worse is that one sold...

Haha. Well, I guess that's why people sell forr crazy prices - someone might buy! I just don't understand how they avoid losing money on eBay fees. Does eBay have a bulk or flat rate deal? Or free re-listing of unsold items?

It's been many years since I've bothered to sell on eBay. At the time I stopped, their pricing made it difficult to justify for a hobbyist selling a few odd items.

Hey, speaking of crazy prices, I see the $125 + overpriced shipping skeletons are still listed. I just accidentally won yet another box of the same figures for $22 shipped. :closed-eyes: Maybe I should make an offer... :engel:

ebay now provides quite a few free listings every month, depending on category it's around 50 and they usually add up to a couple thousand more to be used at specific times.

Last week I bought an old  4e dragon (with the box) for $25 and as soon as it arrived I took some pictures and sold it for $60. It's a strange place.

My "eBay is f'ing awesome!" update:

I bought yet another box of 20 old skeletons. The same ones listed by others for $100+ and $125+ on eBay. My total cost, including postage, was about $15.50. WAS. $5.50 of that was refunded by the seller the next day because actual postage cost was cheaper than expected/listed. As much as I mock people and auctions on this thread, I felt I should also share a rare story of not only a great deal, but an awesome seller!

Also, I fear that I developing a skeleton addiction problem.

Do you see any price decrease in warhammer section after the annihilation of the game?

I myself lately don't go there much.

In some cases yes, in others no. No surprise really, Mordheim stuff has been going for crazy prices for a long time.

There were a lot of large lots, and if you were inclined to drop $100-$200 you could get some amazing deals.

What knightofthelance wrote. In general, it's pretty much stable. Definitely no general price decrease akin to what some wishful thinkers thought.

There have always been deals to be made, especially if you buy a big lot or have a keen eye with bad photos and misspellings. And there are always those crazy high Buy It Now-things which very very seldom sell, and usually have little relation to the common prices. But it's volatile. Much depends on luck and demand. If just two guys are collecting the same OOP metal unit model by model, and are ready to pay some, prices rocket immediately. When both are done, prices go back to normal. Been through this once. Had I waited a couple of months, I would have got everything at half the price.

There are usually short-term reactions to what is going on with the GW shop. I remember that when the Bretonnian metals disappeared from the GW shop, the 2nd hand prices hiked to almost twofold. Was contemplating of getting rid of my extras. Then most of the metals came back (in resin?), and the 2nd hand prices plummeted to the previous level. Should have sold them during that one or two month high, but missed.

I was bidding recently on about a dozen KotBS.  Me and others were hovering around $20-$30 for most of the bidding.

In the final seconds, someone bid $60.  The final bid was $80+. Like it went from $30, $60, $80.  Crazy stuff.

Not US. Looks like Quebec, Canada. So maybe it's a language barrier issue. The return policy is difficult to read.

Based on what I've bought off eBay recently, I'd say my "best offer" would be about 10% of that.

They've relisted a couple of times, so it keeps coming up in my followed searches. Since they are accepting "or best offer" I sent an offer of $10.  :engel:

I don't even need any more of these. And given some of my previous eBay wins on the same item, I would even go as far as saying I may have offered too much. But trolling the trolls will make it worthwhile. Apparently, according to the rules of eBay, you can make up to 3 offers. If they don't accept $10, I am prepared to offer them $8 as a second offer...  :engel:

My offer was declined.

In spite of the seller's reply, as I said, I've been buying these boxes of skeletons (two different variants, this one has metal command bits, the other has plastic) for a while and haven't paid more than $25 (price + postage combined!) for any of them, with the least expensive being under $15. So I really think the asking price is what is "Funny." My offer was in line with the actual going price.

But I've had my fun. As much as I'm tempted to offer $8 as a follow up, including some links to my previous winning auctions/sales, I'm just going to drop it.

"I'm sorry kids. There will be no Christmas presents this year. Daddy had to make an important purchase!"
It's crazy what some people are willing to pay for some really rare and old miniatures.

...or buy it direct from the manufacturer for just over $4...

This is the same person selling the $125 box of plastic skeletons, above. I wonder if I should make them another offer (and include this link, of course) for their "rare" miniature.  :icon_biggrin:
