Kill-team - Where heroes die unknown
« on: January 04, 2020, 04:45:04 PM »
Yes! I have played zip 40K games the last years but I me and my youngest son are starting to really like Kill-team.
Now I have also, finally, gotten my old WHFB gaming buddy to actually start collecting and painting Tallarn IG.

And yesterday we played our first game. He handed my ass to me, which sort of is the norm.

Time for a new post.

Well, Kill team is still my only source of miniature gaming and I am getting a better hang of it. Me and my son have squared of a few times and we had a fun three way battle of trying to get loot between mine Taniths, my friends Tallarns and my sons Deathskull Orkz.

In the end it was my Taniths that made of with most loot.

My 100 points of Taniths are really my proudesr creations. Most are Tanith metal minis, two which are converted. One is a second sniper, Reehn Meert backing up Larkin who has an official mini and the second is Aongus Brostin packing hos trusty Mister Yellow.
Two minis are kitbashed, one being Commisar Hark, counting as a Tempestor packing plasma pistol and power fist. The other is Try Again Bragg who have found a hot-shot volley gun and counts as a scion gunner.

I have found that Bragg and hos volley gun is really useful. Packs a punch and fire four shots. Perfect squad machinegun.
Hark proved his worth fisting my friends ogryn being helped out by Tom Dordens medic tactic. Gaunt, who counts as Imperial Guard Sergeant can focus on commanding.

Brostin is the guy who often dies but always go out with a bang. A demolition expert with a flamer is just so sweet!

While the composition is guided by background and the minis on hand, I feel the different stuff complement each other well. So no plasma spam on my watch.
Well, I got one plasma because there is a Tanith mini with a plasma. I have decided that is Lucky Bonin.

Brim Milo with his pipes counts as vox-caster.

Anyone else succeding in assembling a cool team?

I saw a cool looking Ork starter  box for Killteam.  Really like the scenery that came with ... a crane with vehicle! :icon_cool: :icon_mrgreen:

We have tons of fun with just the Core manual, Elites and Annual 2019.

When we learned how to use Tactics properly it got even better. No special terrain rules just the basic and advanced. No specific Kill zones tried yet.

The starter boxes are often good but I have not bought any.
If you want to start on a budget, I can recommend the Tau Pathfinder box. That is one pretty good Kill team right there!
Two boxes of Ork Boyz will also give you a good start.

I feel the books that you want is Core Manual, Elites and Annual to get some extra fun and more scenarios.

We have yet to try Commander and even if Arena is cool it is not that much of a must unless you like competitive and close quarter.
What I really would have liked to have is the Kill team: Rogue Trader. Much because I want close quarter battle rules.

I'm considering getting the starter box that includes the Tau and Space wolves.

:icon_lol: Now I'm being encouraged. And just when it was thought that I'd resisted. :icon_lol:
