What Board Games Are You Playing in 2019 ...
« on: December 18, 2019, 11:32:13 AM »
As the title says ... What Board Games Are you Playing in 2019?

- - -

At the beginning of the year I got in an Antietam campaign game centered around the fighting at South Mountain.

Then the only other board game all year was a single game of chess.

I intend to play Devil Dogs Belleau Woods 1918, and Sea Kings before the end of the year.

Hope to get in more in 2020!

Oof, lots of board games. My family has gotten into them pretty heavily.

Ticket to Ride. We play this a lot, and have a bunch of the expansions. It's pretty much our go to when family comes. (And I WILL avenge myself on my own mother for cutting me off from my longest route last game.)

Betrayel at the House on Haunted Hill. Or however you call it. We just say "Haunted House". Brilliant game, lots of fun. occasional stinkers though if the end game ends up hinging on bad rolls rather then anything exciting.

The Dresden Files Board Game. A personal favorite, but not one I can get many playing with me. Luckily it has a solo version, and a video version on steam.

Cribbage. It counts as a board game right?

Spyfall. Another personal favorite. One person in the group is a spy, and everyone else gets a location card. You go around the circle and ask each other questions, while the Spy has to figure out what the location is and everyone else has to figure out who the spy is. Fabulous with a large group of friends and a few drinks. We played it for ages at my buddies bachelor party.

Pandemic a few times.

Dead Winter once or twice.

BlackStone Fortress maybe 6 or 7 times, I forget how many for sure.

A bunch others mostly one off.

Yeah, we've done a lot as well.  My table top gaming has gone straight over to board gaming.

The game of the year for us has been Terraforming Mars.  We've got all but one of the expansions (including the Kickstarter).  We've played this game well over 100 times this past year alone.  A lot of time with my wife on nights and weekends.

With some friends we've played Pandemic Legacy Season 2 throughout the year.  We play one month every month.  We'll close out the campaign in about a week.

We've got over 100 games now and we've got friends that have over 300 so our library is pretty extensive.  I don't even remember the number we've tried out and played this year but it's been many.
Me and Wissenlander had babies!

Got in 3 games of Sea Kings last Sunday.  It was an easily learned game with plenty of variability, and although it is a game for 2 to 6 players, I recommend having at least 4, because having 3 players didn't seem as fun.

I unfortunately didn't get in a game of Devil Dogs: Belleau Woods 1918.
