Hab Block phase 2- MAD terrain kickstarter

tempted by this

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1988679138/the-hab-block-phase-ii-28mm-modular-wargaming-terr/description

as an easy way to fill out a 40k table and get a shadow war table.

I've just pledged for the £55 level basic hab
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

Seems a bit expensive for pretty plain boxy buildings. Not a fan. I like the walkways, if I was going to buy anything I'd go for the walkway only pledge. Good walkways are hard to find.

This seems mostly aimed at Infinity and there is lots of competition out there with really good stuff for that game. If you want terrain for shadow war and don't mind it not being that you overly gothic rubbish GW pushes then check out the smaller Infinity terrain developers like Systema or Zen.

But they do the gothic building kit to bring it in line with gw style and I love the flexibility of the magnet system for stairs and walkways.

I just put together a basket of gw terrain I want for my industrial terrain set from gw and it's £202 even at 25% off. This seems cheap compared.

Oh yeah it's cheap compared to GW. Everything is, except maybe Warmill.

I just mean for the type of stuff you get I think the habs are not good value, I like the walkway sets and if gothic is your thing I guess the gothic addon. I think the smaller European companies I mentioned do habs at a better price.

Sig. I looked into systema terrain. They sell one hab with roof for €31 while the mad terrain is £55 for three with roofs, plus the wall ways, plus all the stretch goals added in. That is SIGnificantly cheaper.

I looked at one and it was cheaper just for three Habs, but didn't get the walkway stuff.

http://www.systemagaming.com/types/basebundles

I think these bundles represent comparable or better value than the pledges.

Zen terrain is great for cheap standalone buildings and addons.

I can't find on the MAD kickstarter page any shipping info? I'm interested in the walkways if they end up making the columns for them (currently they don't but they said they might) but getting it out here might be rough.

I think the zen hab bundles are cheaper than systema? ie http://www.zenterrain.com/en_US/p/HAB-L-bundle-pack-2/162.
http://www.zenterrain.com/en_US/p/HAB1-V2.0-bundle-pack-3/172

100 for 7 habs from mad is £14.28 per hab, plus allthe walkways, plus the free unlocks. I think the walkways and magnet system will add utility and ease of use.

zen stuff seems to be a bit more anime aesthetic (i guess for infinity) but maybe thats paint job.
I think this is really cool: http://www.zenterrain.com/en_US/p/Military-Outpost/100

Can't decide!

Zen's pieces are pretty small, that's the only thing about them. If you want walkways and so on, it's definitely best to go with MAD or Systema. Zen is great for cheap extras like small habs to scatter or that little military outpost.

Warmill has the best looking buildings, though Warsenal does a great job. I recently backed https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2097161002/undertown-the-seedier-side-of-the-sphere/updates and although pricy looks really, really good.

When clicking on the link in the first post, it says 9 days remaining for pledging.

ah! brilliant.
I had found myself onto the phase 1 kickstarter, which indeed has finished.

Well, that certainly clarified my mind that I definitely do want to pledge!

Did you not click the Reminder icon - that's supposed to give you 48 hours notice I thought.  :engel:

May not be up if the campaign hasn't actually finished yet?
I think Fin's panic may be over anyway.

Oh and thanks for the Bash money  :eusa_clap:

I like these more than some of the other sci-fi stuff I've seen.  Very tempting.

If you're gonna pledge, pledge. 9 hours to go.

I had to eat my words on this one - once they added in the final update with the stilt and support kits, I had to pledge. For Infinity this stuff is perfect slum/Kowloon walled city type terrain for my Yu-Jing board.

I went for the 150 pledge. Hoping to add extra stuff (ie roofs) via backer kit, I hope that was right rather than manually increasing my pledge.

Same, but I pledged £250 to include shipping and extra funds for the extra kits I know I'll need.

I think a mix with some industrial and some urban will look mint.

Excited for this, although A lot of boring painting to it!
