Gankom:

As you are led down a small side street, by the night watchmen, you turn a corner and there you see more of the night watch standing close together talking quietly, leaning on their halberds. You notice another man, looks to be a Sergeant, kneeling over a body covered by a large dark cloak; however, by the lamp light, you can see small shoes and a smudged blue dress sticking out. You walk up to the man he looks up at you with a look a pure pity on his face. “It is one of that old hedge wizard’s girls, the middle one, me think?” He pulls back the cloak and you notice indeed its young Clara the middle child. Disturbingly, her eyes are gone; the sockets seem to be burned? ... Her mouth turned down in what could only be described as a silent scream, forever frozen, on her innocent face. “What monster could have done this my lord?” the old Sergant  spat, wiping away a tear.... in the distance you hear eight bells start to ring.

Mathi Alfblut gets out of bed as fast as he can.

"By Sigmar, Grandmaster! What is happening?"
He turns around and yells at a dumbfounded servant who is standing beside the bed with a confused look.
"Make yourself useful and HELP ME WITH MY ARMOUR!"

Once again he turn towards the Grandmaster.
"I take it this is something serious indeed. Take me to the spot as soon as I am ready. For anything. I recently got letters from both Volkmar, who instructed me to proceed with this investigation and trial regardless of wether we have a "prosecutor" or not. Never mind. I will happily act as judge, jury and executioner if need be. Works just fine back in Stirland."

He sigh and continue:
"If it had not been for those damn meddling wizards from the Colleges. They want us to wait for one of their investigators to come here. The bastard of a sorcerer then threaten me with ruining my "political future" if I proceed and burn Zak before they can talk to him. Bastard. I take it he does not know my history well enough."
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!

Making the sign of the hammer he grimaces in disgust. "Looks like we are indeed looking at the work of some... monster. Only a chaos inspired filth could do such a thing as this."

He carefully walks aeround the crime scene, looking for anything that stands out to him. "Hmm, the eyes. What meaning does that have..."

Cannon: Six days ago

This night is like most night here in this town that seems to have little trouble from anything especially the ruinous powers.  Sometimes you wonder why they assigned you to this sleepy place. “Remember chaos is never where you expect”… a thought pops in your head. You stop walking when you hear footsteps running towards you, “My Lord, My lord!” its young Matheus, “what could he want?” He stops when he reaches you bending over panting trying to gasp for air, “My Lord you are needed, the Night watch has called for aid something wrong at the old Alchemy shop!”

Both of you hurry towards the center of town, it’s around 8 bells when you reach the shop; gathered around the center are four of the night watch, all carrying halberdiers and a few lamps. The man in charge approaches, removing his helmet scratching his balding head form nervousness, he salutes you, “My lord, we did not know who else to summon for this kind of situation?”  Just then a scream of absolute terror comes from the shop!! Your six sense goes off, “Magic! …Dark magic!” You’ve developed a keen understanding of the dark arts and this feeling is never wrong. Arming yourself with pistol and sword you approach the shop door. Looking down you see that its hanging by just one hinge and falls to the floor when you try to move it…BANG!  “Damit!!”  There goes the opportunity for surprise you think, grimacing, you push forward.

Young Matheus is behind you, the young priest training to be a hunter, “stay quiet and behind me you whisper!” You make your way towards the back of the shop, “such little light” you think, this makes thing a little more difficult as you see little but shadow, broken up by what light filters into from outside.  “AHHH!!!” another scream but this times its cut off short!! … BAM, SMASH!!!...You turn around and see that the young priest has jumped up from the noise and smashed his head against a shelf sending jars, of Sigmar knows what, down on the floor! Dam fool you think as you reach for him, “the dam fool has knocked himself out!” Sneering in irritation you walk quickly towards the scream.

You come to the top of stairs and notice a faint light down the dozen or so steps, and what sounds like a voice...chanting, maybe? A deep voice, a man’s voice, slowly walking down each step making sure not to make a noise you reach the bottom of the steps and walk around to face the room head on….. There you see a body slumped down on the floor, a woman’s body, a rictus grin frozen on her face, eternally laughing at some dark outside force. Looking up, as you hear more chanting, you see Zak, that old hedge wizard sitting in a circle of power, candles all around. Leveling your pistol at his head you suddenly hear a noise form the corner of the room! Turning you instinctively shoot the misshapen dark mass, screaming, the foul creature leaps at you only to be stabbed by your lightning reflexes; turning into a pool of ectoplasmic goo. “Chaos,” you whisper, with hate filled eyes you turn to Zak and see him slumped in the middle of the room passed out, in a fetal position.

Walking towards the scum, Matheus suddenly comes stumbling down the stairs, “My lord I’m so sorry!”…he trails off when he sees the scene before him. “Help me shackle this scum and take him to the tower, don’t touch anything!!” you say with a forceful tone. As you bend over the unconscious Zak to place the shackles on him, your danger sense goes off!! Spinning, you see the young priest floating above the ground arms stretched out like some sort of farmer’s scarecrow? “We will have this town Witch hunter, and their souls!” a deep unnatural hiss coming from Matheus

Bolting upright in your bed, covered in sweat you realize it’s just another one of those dreams, the same dam dream, reliving itself in your head!! "whats going on in this town?" you think .

Cannon:
A little after six bells, one of the Temple’s pages come into your study, saluting, he informs you that the Grand Master needs to urgently see you, “there’s been another murder sir, they are waiting to see you!” he informs you that you will find him with the Arch Lector in his Holinesses chambers.

I make haste to meet the Grand Master.

Warlord the Rat-catcher:...wow your parents thought very highly of you "Warlord" the rat catcher hahaha

The Rat Catcher is a common sight throughout the Empire. They can be found in villages, towns, and cities, making a living by disposing of the vermin that infest all dwellings in this unsanitary age. Rat Catchers are often travelling folk, although larger towns and cities have permanent contingents of “vermin soldiers.” Rats are their chief enemy, but they can also dispose of moles, mice, and even fouler pests. City-dwelling Rat Catchers spend a great deal of time in the sewers, wading through rivers of filth in search of their prey. It’s a dirty job but it helps keep the plague away.

Gold: 3

Career Exits: Animal Trainer, Bone Picker, Cat Burglar, Grave Robber, Jailer, Shieldbreaker, Thief

Artobans: the Agitator.... Parents must be so proud?!

For the most part, the people of the Empire have little say in politics. The Emperor and the Elector Counts make and enforce the laws, with the support of the various churches (Sigmar and Ulric most conspicuously). Nonetheless, ardent political activists are a common sight in the cities of the Empire. These Agitators organize on behalf of various causes, handing out leaflets, giving rousing speeches, and stirring up the populace. The lunatic fringe is simply ignored, but successful Agitators – those who can tap into the wellspring of Peasant and Burgher resentment – are usually viewed as a threat to the state. They are hounded by local watchman, accused of heresy by church officials, or forced to submit to the tender mercies of the Witch Hunters. Agitators continue on despite the risks. Some truly believe in their cause, but others are cynical power seekers as corrupt as those they rail against.

Skills: Academic Knowledge (History), Gossip, Common Knowledge (the Empire), Concealment, Charm, Perception, Read/Write, Speak Language (Breton), Speak Language (Reikspiel)

Talents: Coolheaded, Street Fighting, Flee!, Public Speaking

Trappings: Light Armour (Leather Jack), one set of Good Craftsmanship Clothes

Career Exits: Charlatan, Demagogue, Ex-Convict, Outlaw, Politician, Rogue, Zealot

Gold: 8

BAWTRM:  the Bone Picker…. Your parents disowned you dude

Bone Pickers are scavengers, scraping a living together off the refuse of others. They lead their carts through villages and towns, collecting old bones, rags, and other junk and disposing of it in return for a few pennies or a small item in trade. Sometimes known as rag and bone men or rag pickers, they are a common sight in the Empire’s cities, which generate large amounts of waste. Since many goods pass through their hands, Bone Pickers are also petty traders. What is trash to a wealthy Burgher is treasure to a poor Peasant.

Skills: Animal Care, Charm or Gossip, Drive, Common Knowledge (the Empire), Evaluate, Haggle, Perception, Search

Talents: Coolheaded, Streetwise, Resistance to Disease

Trappings: Cart, 3 Sacks, dagger

Gold: 0, a few coppers

Commandant:  the Charcoal-Burner ….. “Get out of my house” your father shouts !!

Charcoal-Burners can be found in every village in the Empire. They burn wood to create charcoal, an important fuel for the winter months. Since their work is both dirty and potentially dangerous, they work outside their villages. The outskirts of the forest are best, as wood is easily accessible. This proximity to the forest also makes charcoal-burning dangerous work, since isolated parties of such men are easy prey for the malign creatures of the wood. A Charcoal Burner’s camp always has weapons handy, even if they are nothing more than clubs cut from the nearby trees.

Skills: Common Knowledge (the Empire), Concealment, Drive, Gossip, Haggle, Outdoor Survival, Perception, Scale Sheer Surface, Search, Secret Signs (Ranger).

Talents: Flee, Savvy, Very Strong.

Trappings: 3 Torches, Tinderbox, Hand Weapon (Hatchet)

Career Exits: Hunter, Miner, Scout, Vagabond, Woodsman

Valmir: the Barber-Surgeon….hmmm your parents are right proud of you sir, if they were still alive

Barber-Surgeons provide painful but effective healing to the common folk of the Empire. They are not as learned as Physicians, which is why Physicians maintain a separate guild, but they know quite a lot about anatomy. While they do cut hair and shave, they are more noted for their bleedings, surgeries, and amputations. Barber-Surgeons carry a variety of razor-sharp blades, from small scalpels to enormous bone saws. They have even more sinister looking tools for the most hated of their avocations: dentistry. Many large ships have a dedicated Barber-Surgeon as part of the crew; they are also common in towns and cities.

Skills: Charm, Drive, Swim, Haggle, Heal, Perception, Read/Write, Speak Language (Reikspiel), Trade (Apothecary).

Talents: Resistance to Disease, Savvy, Very Resilient, Surgery.

Trappings: Trade Tools (Barber-Surgeon), nice cloths, hand weapon, pistol

Career Exits: Interrogator, Grave Robber, Physician, Tradesman, Vagabond

Gold: 10

Cannon of Doom: Witch Hunter ... your parents are just scared  :icon_eek:

Witch Hunters are grim individuals who have dedicated their lives to eradicating the forces of Chaos, either in the service of the state or the Church of Sigmar. They prefer to seek out Chaos cultists, Mutants, and heretics that have insidiously hidden amidst the cities of the Empire. However, they will travel far indeed if they think they can strike a meaningful blow against the forces of evil. Witch Hunters tend to be a surly and suspicious lot with no qualms about killing innocents, so long as they also manage to slay the guilty, which means their appearance is often regarded with dread by other folk.

Skills: Academic Knowledge (Magic), Academic Knowledge (Necromancy), Academic Knowledge (Theology), Charm, Command, Common Knowledge (the Empire), Gossip, Intimidate, Perception, Ride, Search, Silent Move.

Talents: Lightning Parry, Lightning Reflexes, Marksman, Menacing, Public Speaking, Sixth Sense, Specialist Weapon Group (Crossbow), Specialist Weapon Group (Entangling), Specialist Weapon Group (Throwing), Stout-hearted, Strike Mighty Blow.

Trappings: Pistol with 10 shots, Best Craftsmenship Long Sword, 4 Throwing Knives/Stars, Heavy Armour (Full Plate Armour), 10 Yards of Rope, Horse

No career exit

Gold: 20

Special skills:

The Mark of the Witch : Witch hunters use many different methods for determining whether a suspect is guilty of being a witch. Each witch hunter tends to develop their own methods, but a two have become common practice and have gained infamy throughout the Empire – ducking and branding.

Fiery Zeal makes you fearless when confronting supernatural evil (not mortal creatures)

Arch Lector Mathi Alfblut you had your parents burned for being witches... you were 6

Every popular religious cult wields at least some degree of political influence. Priests who represent their temples on town councils can – given enough ambition – attain special titles in the court of the ruling noble, or become administrators of temple-owned lands. A prelate’s skill at delivering sermons and debating legal statutes with equal proficiency makes him highly respected in both civic and religious circles. However, the lure of temporal wealth and power has led many prelates down the path of corruption. Prelates may also be known as vicars, curates or arch lectors, depending upon the cult.

Skills: Academic Knowledge (Chaos Lore), Academic Knowledge (Theology), Blather, Charm, Common Knowledge (Empire, Telia ), Gossip, Heal, Intimidate, Perception, Performer (Storyteller), Ride, Swim, Secret Language (Guilder), Speak Arcane Language (Magick). Speak most human languages.

Talents: Master Orator, Etiquette, Linguistics, Seasoned Traveler, Schemer, Stout Hearted, Strong Mind.

Trappings: Prayer Book, Best Quality Vestments, Relic of Faith, really anything you want for the most part.

Exits: Politician or Priest

Gold: you’re rich dude

Special Talent: Divine Inspiration  :engel: through prayer you might get guidance from holy Sigmar

Gankom: Litigant (lawyer) your parents love you

Litigants are common sights both in Talabheim and all the major cities of the Old World. They write up legal documents, interpret the law, and represent individuals in court who are able to afford their fees. Litigants are almost universally reviled, except when someone is in legal trouble and needs assistance. Litigants need to be well versed in both the laws of the Empire and the region they plan to practice law, plus have a great deal of knowledge about day-to-day affairs. Even the lowest-born litigant is considered a “person of letters” to the general populace and may be asked to do things far beyond their training.

Skills: Academic Knowledge (Genealogy/Heraldry, History), Academic Knowledge (Law), Blather, Charm, Common Knowledge (the Empire), Gossip, Haggle, Perception, Read/Write, Secret Language (Guild Tongue), Speak Language (Reikspiel).

Talents: Dealmaker, Etiquette, Public Speaking, Savvy, Suave.
Armour: light

Weapons: Hand Weapon, pistol 10 shots

Trappings: Book of Empire Laws, Writing Kit.

Career Exits: Agitator, Demagogue, Guild Master, Merchant, Politician, Scholar.
