Sorry for your loss, GP.
But in a time of mourning, isn't 98 years of active life also a thing to celebrate.
My elder grandmother passed away a year ago, but had literally slept for years before that, so it was a very gentle passing from this world. She was nearing 109, and one of the eldest in this country, pensioned before I was born. We had some great times before she got bedridden. I'm still freshly finding out her wisdom, wits and humour when I recall our time together. Things you're too young to realize at the time, but which you can understand as you go through the years yourself.
My other grandmother is close to 100 now, and she is becoming brittle and tired. It is a crucial time now, as she starts to need help 24/7. Again, we, the younger generation with our young families, are very very busy with life. Reminds me that I need to visit her more often.
Blessed be grandmothers!
