Retinae?

:icon_wink:

I'm a bit confused because initially, I thought it was meant to be rust... but either way, nice painting, Philly! Must be great to see them on tabletop.

Thanks Finley!

I am really trying to grind through the models now, since I need to go to a tournament next month.  We will see how we do!

I have seen these in person and they look ten times better then the pictures.  Mr PhillyT next time I see you I will show you a few photo taking things that will help with your flash glare and a few others that a photographer friend of mine taught me, when taking pictures of small things.

all in all though you know I love your models

I think so too.
I am tempted to do some orange armour for my fantasy bosses.

Love the raider Philly  :-D I also like how you have made your orks look menacing rather than comedic.

I believe seeing your 40k orcs was the reason I painted all my Black Orcs orange. You are an inspiration.

Hey very cool!

I just like orange really.  I play a death skulls army, which likes blue, but it is a cross between them and an evil sunz since I love vehicles.  I ended looking at the completely red sunz stuff and decided that orange would look very good, or at least comparable!

I think they are rather lovely Philly. I've just started an orange and turquoise Empire army. I am a fan of the orange.

It was fun to peruse through the photos here again. :icon_biggrin:

If I recall, there are some more photos of the individual nobs somewhere, too.  Maybe on that long 40K thread.  Yet if there's a way to add them here that could be good!

Any new stuff since before?

Your vehicles are really good - especially the landraider mate - love the trophy pole colours and the oranges definately work well. Only negative thing I would say is I think the ork big mek would look better with some metal washes and more shading and highlighting across the model though, some of the areas are flat. I think I have grown to like orks quite a lot since I started my big mek a while back and I always enjoy seeing the crazy models for them that people make, great stuff.

I am super unhappy with that paintjob for all the reasons you mentioned.  I am contemplating stripping it but I am going to wait until I have the rest of the army done.

Good for you! Pictures of your army only though, please, if it's all the same to you.

No need to strip it mate, unless you have used thick paints on it or are unhappy with colours I guess. Just use what you have done as a basecoat. Its main problem is flatness, which is easily remedied.

Agreed. A few more Checks (larger size checks would be great for variation) and some plates in a different worn out looking color. Maybe some faded blue plates?
