Thanks everyone!

I just finished my second 10 man group.  Spent 4 hours putting together the Forge World World Eater kits I ordered.  I am making thirty bezerkers using chaos marauders, forge world conversion kits, and bezerker kits.

My long term plan is to have 15 Forge World Terminatiors and 60 bezerkers.  Rhinos for all and a landraider.  Basically a mechanized World Eater force.

I do need to figure out how to weather and add blood to the models effectively.  I worry that their armor will make blood effects mostly disappear and I am not sure what sort of weathering effects will work on that color.  Red is tough in that way.  I can chip it up a little, but what would work for dirt and aging?

Kharn

Looking at these photos I see I need to put another wash down on the tassels from his helmet.

Very nice, great army standard of painting.

Im looking forward to seeing all those red marines and vehicles. It would be a formidable army.
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

Sorry, I couldn't help my self  :-P

Anyway great painting.

I choose too keep "Old Warhammer" alive with my blood sweat and tears.

It's bad that warhammer might die but it would be a tragedy if it stays dead!

Thanks everyone.  I do need to chip his armor, add blood effects, and otherwise dirty them up.  I just wrapped up my second set of 10 bezerkers and assembled and based the last 30 I plan on using.  Will just plow through them all now!

Here is what I have finished and based right now.  I have decided how I will be weathering the models and will begin the process when I finish the five models I have 85% finished and the third unit of bezerkers.

Heroes: Kharn, Dark Apostle, Terminator Lord

15 Bezerkers:

First set of terminators:

Decimator/Hellbrute/Contemptor Dread

I made this model back in 2002.  I have kept it and finally repainted it partially, doing it in World Eater's colors.

All looks good, very cohesive.

Minor item, The terminator characters axe looks very flat in pics, it could do with some highlights prior to 'blooding'
I really like the blue spot colour, it works perfectly.

Thanks Friday

Yeah, I think I am going to do an energy effect on the big axe.  Its a massive flat surface so shouldn't be too bad!

We had our first game with the bezerkers tonight.  They were absolutely brutal.  They were able to crush what they touched and consolidate into other models, mincing them to bits.

Here are some photos from the match.  I was teamed with tyrannies against my own marines and Iron Warriors.

They ate whatever they touched!  Best counter is to damage their transports, whittle them down a little, and charge them before they charge you!

You make Angron proud. These Eaters of Worlds are not only good looking, but freaking effective as well. I've heard that in the 8th edition, they really stand out.

Did you finally get an airbrush Phil? I seem to remember you considering getting one.

I've had one for a few years now!  I bought one after considering it.  Used it to crank out 6 commissioned Imperial Knights.  The airbrush helped me move the total time from assembly to full painted to 9 hours!

They can be such a terrific tool.  I need to practice with it more.  I don't know how people use them on smaller models.  It astounds me the work some people are able to do!  I likely need a better airbrush since mine is a cheap $50 on.  More nozzle sizes etc.

I like that you haven't made the chaos symbols stand out on the figure's wings.

Ha, I have now!  The symbols are a problem.  If you wash them to make them fit the rest of the model, they look... odd in a way.  They look unnatural as opposed to the more realistic look of the membrane itself.

I went with the idea that my thirster leaks the blood of kings from his mouth and the symbols have been done in blood.  I tried a glowing effect but it was washed out by how light the wings were.

Hope it works out.  My other thought would be for them to be done as tattoos, yet not sure that'd look good with them raised as much as they are.
