Sharkbelly Visits the Silver Tower
« on: August 27, 2017, 04:03:10 AM »
I am starting a brand new thread for my Warhammer Quest related stuff. I have both Silver Tower and Hammerhal, and a few extras as well. I hope to get them all painted up over the course of this school year.

I decided to start with the Brimstone Horrors.

oh, great topic! brimstones look good. I've been tempted by the Silver Tower as well, seems like a great gateway drug for the son. Just haven't taken the plunge yet.  :closed-eyes:

@GP, it's one of the boxed sets for Age of Sigmar. Kind of their Mordheim, D&D dungeon crawler version of the game. It's got a good mix of units and heroes. Very popular.

I'd love to see them get blasted by shooting and turn into a hundred brims!

Here is my exalted flamer.

I think the rules for flamers are overpowered, but I like your paintjob!

Yep! They look great! I love screamers. One of my favorite models of all time. I love everything about tzeentch as I think it makes complete sense for some reason 😸

Didn’t realize they have bows as well. They are great miserable little creatures. What’s not to love? I would love a unit of 20

I decided to paint up a few of the characters to start a campaign. First finished is the Gryph-hound.

Love this guy!
Gryph hounds are great. I have one with the priest as yet untouched. I would like the pack of them as well.

I saw the box of them on the website the other day. Tempting!

My group and I played through the first game in a campaign yesterday. It was a blast! We started in the library. The one lone Pink Horror that was acting as librarian wasn't too tough, and left us feeling pretty good about our chances.

Next up was the Whirligig passage. This one got crowded really fast, and we were worried that we would be overwhelmed. But after slogging it out, we managed just fine.

Then came the Abandoned Nest. We discovered it was home to an exotic enemy, and went with the Exalted Flamer. Fortunately the Knight Questor was able to put some damage on it before the Fireslayer Doomseeker finished it off.

The next room was Perilous Footing, which was appropriate enough because there was a trip of Screamers hovering around in it. The Knight made good use of his challenge ability to draw them in so they wouldn't get fly-by attacks on their own turn.

Finally, we arrived at the last room: Searing Beams. This one featured two turnable pillars that fire beams of searing light. The room was absolutely packed with cultists and horrors, but by now we had started to work out a routine. The Excelsior Warpriest used his blast of holy energy to pop 6 or 7 Brimstone Horrors at once.

We actually had to stop the game because we ran out of time, and have not yet finished the final encounter with the Gaunt Summoner. So I will let you know how it turns out!

Sounds awesome!  How many players did you have and how long?  I’ve been quietly eyeing this game for a bit. Love the models especially.

Three players. We played for about two hours. Since we are still getting familiar with the rules, it takes us a little bit longer. :-)

The one nice thing about not finishing is that I can try to finish the Gaunt Summoner before we conclude.
