It's my favourite hat. I have far too many hats, a lot with wide brims and feathers and such like (and they ain't for weddings) but that hat has way more style than all of them.

They are the best kind of hat

Well, apart from the awesomness of medieval hats, which were as wacky as hollywood makes out, especially for women.

Not enough people wear hats now

And I wish I could get away with wearing a chaperon hat somewhere that wasnt full of re-enactors in equally silly hats.

NB: My other eye is open, but it's hard not to close the eye on the side of the pan. Not sure whether the musket has just fired or is just about too!

PS: Haven't asked permission of my lady wife to post this pic, thus the fact that I have cruelly chopped off all but her elbow.

PPS: I made that coat, waistcoat, shirt and neckcloth myself, even added the silly braiding to that coat for that evening. I'm afraid I sew as well as paint toy soldiers. I have no shame. Oh, and my fingers hurt.

Mind you, I was running a gang of cutpurses and pickpockets at the time, and my doublet did have half a dozen stolen purses concealed in the lining.

I take it you do know the previous pictures are indeed 'actual' pictures? They're not photoshopified or anything. You're in your clothes, Matthi and I are in ours. What's not 'actual'?

It's a classic German-English translation error. The German word "aktuell" translates to "up to date", which is what he probably meant.
