More than enough to cover the original price, a finder's fee and shipping.

:engel:

Also, I demand pics of this bear unit.

You think Midaski has actually made it?
He is collecter first, modeller second, gamer third, painter 4th. (I think. Maybe gamer and painter swapped)

...... and they still are.

They're just behind the 14 Gryphon Legion models all neatly laid out in rows - pistolier horses, 'wings', bodies, weapon arms ......

and just in front of the 50 odd undercoated Kossars awaiting the inspiration of a colour scheme.        :engel:

.......and that would be the perfect excuse for him to fill them up again...with other new boxes...with stuff.....I,m pretty sure if Midaski didn't collect minis, he would collect old newspapers.....with jokes underlined. ( yes I'm mean ).

Good idea.

I'll set you up as heir, Midaski, so you'll get the models back in 100 years or so. That's hardly any time for you at all.

I did wonder initially if it was Justin Hill's, but he's in Hong Kong isn't he?

Quite cool, although I think the pikemen undermine the over all impact of the army.

Also, it didn't sell.

It's been a very long time since I've bothered with eBay. But I thought I'd check in. I just sat down over lunch and did a bunch of searches on eBay for different things I'd be interested in if I could get a deal.

I did not find a single item for less than retail price --- all were normal retail, plus shipping -- "Buy It Now" so-called auctions.

I am now doubly convinced that eBay is nothing more than a front end for basement "retailers" who don't want to bother with their own web store.

That arabian army looks awesome!
Concerning ebay: ebay Germany ist still OK. Of course you get a lot of buy it nows, but warhammer-wise most offers are still real auctions from private sellers who want or need to get rid of their stuff.

Real bargains are rare though, most things (Assembled and maybe primed) end up at ~60% retail price, things high on demand fetch even more.

I only search in 'auctions' - I ignore the straigh 'buy it now' stuff.

The average prices though have gone up quite a bit in the last 4 years - you could buy metal minis for under 50p each back then.

OK, nominally this is an eBay specific thread. But I'm just going to start venting all my online buying & selling woes here. And by "woes" I mean "WTF?"

I posted some WE stuff on Bartertown. It's almost entirely still on the sprue of in the packaging -- like 98% of it. The rest it unassembled/unpainted. I listed exactly what was in each condition. There are also a bunch of extra bits listed.

Taking the prices of just the complete figures, I'm trying to sell at about 50% of retail.

My first round of replies consist entirely of people:

a.) Trying to talk me down to selling at 30-40% of retail price.
b.) Wanting to see pictures of the figures.

Seriously, WTF? I figured I would unload this stuff in no time. Seems like a deal to me. If I was shopping for a new army (or to expand my existing army) and someone was offering mint figures at 1/2 retail, I'd probably consider that a pretty good deal. Obviously better than eBay. Better than any online discounting retailers, too.

I might understand if I said it was all assembled, or painted, or stripped. But other than a few figures, it's all specifically listed as on-sprue or sealed. C'mon, requests for pictures? Of what -- box art and sprues? And sorry, 1/3 retail price? Should I include the keys to my car?

Yes. In fact, it's considered a faux pas over there not to offer free insurance and benefits.
