Metal to Finecast - It is mostly a swap of medium.

You mean they will be using Ouija boards instead of Tarot cards for their business plans from now on?

Looks like a lot of shill bidding. The eight bids previous to the last were all from the same person.

That's automatic bidding.  g* put in a top bid between £102.01 and £104.01.  If you click "show automatic bids," you can see that s* kept trying to outbid g*, but ebay automatically increased g*'s bid.

I don't get why people would pay so much for this model.  Is the painter well known or is this a rare model?

Ah, thanks for the clarification!

And I have no idea why you would pay so much for this model. The picture is quite small too, making the eyes look really squinty on the model. Does not attract me one bit, but hey, inside side-boob view I guess?

I continue to find it annoying when things sell for full retail price.

Just buy it from GW directly if you're prepared to pay full price!  :eusa_wall:

I sometimes think that those offers must be buddies of the guy buying it back so he can start another run. I can´t understand why anyone would buy something used from a shady private trader for the same or higher cost.

Could possibly be lazy people who want stuff assembled and are using dad's credit card. Or people from countries under the embargo where online stores won't ship and things are many times more expensive locally (south America as I understand it, and parts of Asia).

I really don't get this. I've watched 15 stormtalons this month, and every single one has sold for at least $36 plus S&H. At GW its $45. The *best* deal has saved like $5. Sure, it's $5. But really? The worst ended up paying $5 over retail at $9 S&H....     :|

Edit: shortly after posting this I got one for 12 under retail....    lucky?       W-E power?

26 "pro painted" knights for $510 (or best offer)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Karl-Franz-on-Deathclaw-PRO-PAINTED-/171240685392#ht_86wt_1362
"pro painted" Karl Franz for $150+ - Originally all he had posted for an image was the GW stock photo. I sent him a message saying that I doubted his paint job was 100% exact to the GW version. He responded saying that it actually is 99% close (lol). I guess he must have received other similar messages and eventually posted his photo. He's been posting it every week since November or so.

These things always make me laugh.

Well he sold this for $95.00 and another Karl Franz on Deathclaw for $125.

So there are people out there willing to spend that much money. Might have a go trying to sell my tat for the crazy prices

You are looking at a professionally painted Tomb Kings Necrosphinx miniature produced by Games Workshop.  I am a legally blind model painter, and this model has been painstakingly and carefully assembled, and painted by myself. This model is set and ready to drop onto the scene.  this is a model constructed of plastic, and sturdily glued together and painted to a standard of excellence that I try to achieve with all my models.

What?  So if I paint my stuff with my eyes closed that can justify selling it for silly prices?

So if that guy ranks as a pro painter, do I get to call myself a member of 'Eavy Metal? :D

Well to be fair, in his eyes it looks just like the Heavy Metal picture, after all he is legally blind! To him it does justify the price.

I think ebay's wonderful.

I've had a couple of cracking deals this week.

Someone made an offer on the knights. If it was anything more than $50-75 he should have jumped all over it. I just wish I knew what the offer made was. Also, about the legally blind guy, I'd imagine the last Karl Franz he sold was actually decent looking. Then he saw it was easy money, quickly painted a new one, and was hoping to get the same results.

Also about the knights, the same guy is selling an Empire army for $500 with a decent number of models which are much better painted than the knights. It's still no where near worth $500 though.

My best ebay deal was, for $47 shipped: 3 demigryphs, cannon/crew, 10 handgunners, 28 halberdiers, mini rulebook, warrior priest, box of pistoliers, 10x knights, general. All of which are newest possible models, unpainted but mostly assembled. Some of it was broken but was very easy to fix.
