Truly impressive!!
I´m in the middle of a similar project, and you have convinced me that my scale is too little...by the way, can teach us something about the building method?
Thanks.
Maybe my scale is too big
- the problem is ofcourse that I have to stick to that scale now, which probably means a 1m tall keep/donjon, but right now I have enough work with that piece already.
About the construction: It is important to find the right material. In my case it is some isolation foam that normally goes between a wall and wallpaper. It comes it big sheets, but is only 6mm thick, which means you need some kind of construction undearneath (wood, cardboard, other foam). There are ofcourse other isolation foams , which are way thicker and come in colours like blue and pink - but not all of them are that good to work with. The stone stucture is done by 'drawing' and pressing a pencil into the foam - not too much and not too little. PVA glue to put the thing together.
At the moment I am working on a bigger machicolation (?) the door and a drawbridge. After that a portcullis will follow - the full program basically.
I have painted some hard to reach parts of the gate area already and it looks quite good I have to say
. As I said: 1-2 weeks till the next update.
