That might take a while, so be patient. :smile2: If the rumours are true that they are releasing a starter box this summer with Stormcast and Nighthaunt I will probably start my Order army with that.

Thanks guys. I honestly didn't think very hard about the fluff; I just went with something that seemed cool.

I just recently painted a Wight King and a couple of prototype skeletons. I have always wanted to do something with orange and checkers seemed like a good option to make the shields more interesting to look at. They are marked with a token black pyramid to remind the Wight Kings that they ultimately serve Nagash.

I really enjoyed painting the Wight King previously known as Krell. He is truly one of the finer miniatures in the later line of WHFB miniatures. I do however object to the idea that Krell could have possibly fitted in a regiment formation. His axe is so ridiculously huge that I had to mount him on a rather large base.

Thanks, guys.

I have painted some more Skeletons.

I have also made a prototype Free Guild/Empire mini for Age of Sigmar. I made him out of the Warlord Games/Pro Gloria plastic kit and a plastic halberd made by Fireforge Games. I kinda like how he turned out even though I didn't want to spend any time on the eyes because that would be too much effort for 100+ of these true scale minis. So now after all these years I have finally presented a painted Empire mini on the forum for Empire players. :closed-eyes:

The skeletons are ace. The shields are freehand? Respect!

The colours of the Empire Halberdier are nice. But I can't help thinking that his legs are short and arms are stiff. Problem of that Landsknecht box. But from an upward frontal viewpoint, they work very well, and that's how you'll be looking at them in rank and file at least. Like the full beard.

Please, more!  :-)

Thanks. :smile2:

The shields are indeed free-hand and quite easy to do. :biggriin:

I do suppose that the legs might appear too short, but from what so can tell the proportions seems to actually be anatomically correct. The slashed sleeves also creates the illusion of a much larger upper body. I was alslo thinking of making one of the boxes into swordsmen, but I'm not sure which plastic kit would be the best fit for a kitbash.

I think maybe you need to mount his arms slightly higher up? He looks slouched and gibbon-armed, but if you allow for more puffy material above his actual shoulder bones I think it'll make all the difference.

Other than that, he's ace! And the skeletons are brilliant.  :::cheers:::

Thank you.

I mainly have the arms like that because I was originally putting them on square bases for a regiment and I wanted to avoid the classic collision when ranking them up, but I recently decided to put them onto round bases instead. So I will see if so can make them seem more lively in the future. The collar is also a bit high so the heads are prone to slouch a bit of you don't trim it.

I'm also thinking of ordering some advancing metal ones later this year when ordering the plastic Warlord missile landsknecht box. Which I'm currently unsure if they would be better with crossbows or handguns in AoS.

Dry nice Ursa. Love the gritty feel of the skellies.
I have to say I do like miniatures on rounded bases. Not gat I have anything against rank and file but I prefer rounded.

Thanks, Arbotans Ghost. Yeah, the round bases have grown on me quite well. They do give me a bit more space for decorating as well.

Thanks guys. :smile2: I ordered a bunch of more landsknechts. So I should be stocked up with things to paint for the foreseeable future.

I have also painted my first test mini for the Stormcast Eternal. They really do look a lot better in silver than gold. I'm thinking of calling them the Stormbringers of the Ebon Hammer, or something.

This is the kind of scheme that I love to see on Stormcast Eternals. I don't really like them in gold, but in more darker, colder colors. Works better for them IMO.
