I think even a master in his field should be able to reduce complex topics in a way that they are as understandable as possible. There is no advantage at all using terms that are seldon used or creating sentences that go over three pages.

I used to get in trouble at university for being too concise. Most people pad their work a lot, so if you don't they assume you haven't done enough work!

Shorter = better.

Good point. But sometimes, very specific concepts can be justifiably used in order to avoid 3-page sentences. Using strange concepts such as "kinodramatic" or "BS-modifier", in circumstances where everyone probably knows what you mean anyway, is often very effective.

But this is a general opinion, and not primarily a defence of the particular quotation provided by Fidelis.

No presentation. It is not even for me. A friend of mine has to read this (among other articles) for his examination tomorrow, but could not make head or tail of it. So, he asked me, if I could make some sense of it and provide a summary. But thanks for asking!

My cousin's (who's closer to a sister since my parents raised her when her mom went nuts) infant son just died in a household accident when the father fell on him. Because of the circumstances the state has placed their other son with relatives and opened a full investigation. Rough on my family.
