That's southern Louisiana, but I know a guy who sounds like that. The presence of a huge Air Force base here means about half the population is not native to Louisiana.

Parents live in Maine.

Me and my uncle get on fine. Its just loosing my own place that sucks. Too used to living by myself. And I had a great routine. Now there are just too many unknowns. How am I to get to work? where can I exercise? how much will he charge me rent? utilities? etc...

It should be good to get back on my feet as I still have this job but I view it as a failure on handling my own problems and taking care of myself.

they are raising my rent and there is no way I can stay for any extended period of time. I currently have two options

move in with my uncle and his family. I will be able to save up a lot of money in no time and pay off some delinquent loans but at the cost of freedom and isolation (I dont have a car and the commute from white plains to DC is LONG).

or

take over a friend of mine's lease at a condo. I would save approximately 300-400 a month am right across the street from the metro and walking distance to everything in a really nice and newly built area. I will have a roomate I never met before though and my uncle is a bit paranoid that if I go that route things may go missing and since I dont know this guy bad things could happen. My friend assures me that he is on the up and up but I dont know if my friend is trying to just get out of his lease or not. Considering he lives in two places and is trying to get rid of one because rent there went up I dont know what to do.

I've moved in with a complete stranger before and it was okay. I think my uncle is just being paranoid. When I talked to him yesterday his wallet just got stolen. He may have just been in a more than usual paranoid mood. Honestly this condo is extremely tempting. My dad thinks I should move in with my uncle for a month or two to get caught up on bills then try to move into my friends condo.

my current lease ends May 5th. I am tempted to renew for a month or two (basically renew and then give them 60 days notice of vacating) bit not sure how that will go down with the leasing office.

I am trying to figure out how to move to. I think I will need another body and a u-haul since I dont have a car. My uncle may or may not be willing to help and I am unsure if my friend or his roomate want to help me move. The logistics of moving is really irking me right now.

FFH, if you're in debt you need to suck it up, take the cheap option with your uncle and pay it off ASAP. Debt is just a slow poison. When you're in debt, you don't worry about convenience or "having a life" because you end up just treading water financially. Seems fine short term, but you'll end up exactly where you are now in 3 years and be kicking yourself.
