Yes, I applied, and got, a new job within the library, on a years temporary contract. (but kept my permanent contract for my old job). So it looks exceedingly likely that in november I’ll be back to my old job. Dropping 2 grades down the salary scale, and about a million grades down the “my job is interesting” scale.
The really annoying thing is my new big boss is emphasising what my new job is as being important- but not supporting it! I guess they’re gonna try and make other people do it.
My line manager and her line manager both really want to keep me, but don’t think it’s likely.
