tried to connect it with your pc yet? Usually you can still access the file system from there (as a sort of external hd)

That was the first thing I tried when I had access to a PC.

You cannot see the files unless you enter the PIN on your cellphone.   :|

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/13/germany-to-close-borders-exit-schengen-emergency-measures

Headline says it all.

And now suddenly it's not a bad thing. 800.000 people were projected to come to Germany this year. One city "welcomed" over 160.000 of them TODAY. You know what makes me really un happy about this? The fact that people still think I'm a NAZI for saying that no good can come of this, and that I can't do anything to fix the situation.

It's the furor teutonicus. Every couple of years this country goes all crazy with the latest fad to feed its moral overconfidence.

Now, helping refugees is definitely one of the more palatable examples of said furor, but we're seeing the results now (which were entirely predictable): because we tried to help everybody, we'll end up helping nobody, not even those who actually need help.

You know what's funny (at least, it would be if it wasn't so sad) about Germany closing its borders?
Our politician Wilders, who has always warned against islam and such an aggressive migratory action, was demonized for this solution. And now Germany closed the borders, and suddenly the establishment expresses "understanding" for the actions. It's the same thing over and over again. Wilders has an idea, sees it shot down because it's Wilders and no other reason, even if it is a fine idea, then later somebody from another party picks up the idea and suddenly it is a great idea! Just like the late Pim Fortuyn. Now that was a man who I wish we still had. At any rate, Fortuyn would have an idea, spread it around, see it shot down. As soon as he was dead, people started tearing at his ideas like vultures and suddenly these were the best laid plans EVAR!

Try reading, Germany didn't CLOSE the borders they just setup border checks to see if any non refugee's are coming along with the stream of people.
And it's actually Shengen ok to institute a border inspection in these circumstances for 30 days.

Dutch news:
http://www.ad.nl/ad/nl/36281/Vluchtelingenstroom-West-Europa/article/detail/4141926/2015/09/14/Domino-effect-bij-invoeren-grenscontroles-in-Europa.dhtml

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/13/germany-to-close-borders-exit-schengen-emergency-measures

Headline says it all.

Right wing newspaper not getting facts straight or just not telling everything? Also the link doesn't support fully the headline on the page.. where it actually only says "Germany reinstates controls at Austrian border"

PS: maybe time to move this topic to it's own thread instead of loitering the Unhappy thread?

The Guardian is very much a left-wing liberal news paper.
It is not enough to have no ideas of your own; you must also be incapable of expressing them.

Well that just supports my views on news papers in general just going for the bigger headlines instead of telling what really is the news.. and that you only find that out after some exploring yourself..

I'm again reminded of what a trite and uninspired setting Age of Sigmar is compared to WHFB.

Well, the main thing I miss is the Old World in general. From what I can tell Age of Sigmar is more of a saturday morning cartoon setting and nothing like WHFB.

Haha, it was only a matter of time before that ended up here. :icon_lol:

I think it's shaping up to be a pretty good setting. Lots of dark elements (Stormcast losing their souls to Nagash, Slaan being vital links to the lizardmen's survival, chaos being able to strike from anywhere) mixed with a better balance of the forces of order actually facing chaos on a equal playing field.

The old world will be missed, though.  :closed-eyes:

Good thing we'll never let it die.

I'll get over it. For me GW basically stopped producing fluff I enjoyed sometime in the 7'th editon. So even if they carried on with WHFB I would probably not enjoy it either way.

True. It even has its own Skeletor and He-Man. Not to mention all the villians cry: "I'll get you next time!".

I guess I just miss the down to earth things about the Empire and the gothic horror undead.

Yesterday one of our cats died. She was hit by a car and killed instantly.
Only 1,5 years old leaving us and her twin-sister behind to be in a better world..

Man that's tough. I saw a cat die once and it was heartbreaking. You've got my sympathy Steg.

Sorry to hear that!  :icon_sad:

Our tomcat returned home this morning with a large wound bleeding heavily. I immediately took him to the veterinary for surgery and will pick him up in a few minutes. He'll hate having to wear an e-collar again.  :icon_sad:

Well, at the moment he is completely pissed off. We had to dress him in baby underwear to prevent him from scratching the wound.

The girls think he's looking like a Christmas cat. Grumpy cat is not amused.  :closed-eyes:

He is. Grumpy cat is not allowed to eat yet.  :closed-eyes:

He manages to get out of his Christmas suit with his hind legs though. Fortunately, that's not where the wound is and he is too busy getting rid of his suit  to scratch.
