Is it okay if I pass on that "honor" ?
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls

I figure meeting someone face to face that you know from online gives you a very different perspective of that person because you can suddenly pick up on the tone of their arguments. Only 20% of all direct communication is verbal, so a person is so much more than their words.

Well, he hasn't really given me incentive to make me want to meet him, and there is very little he can say to make me want to meet him.

Ursa,

I speak English, Dutch, Frisian, French, German, Middle English, Spanish and can read most Latin, Old English, and even some Futhark, but what you just said is a concept I cannot translate.

That is because it needs no translation.

He is pretty cool in real life, and I hated him on the net before we met

I like to think the best of people and what you see of them online is only a fraction of what makes a person.

Remarkably when you meet someone in real life you often find they have other qualities then the one's you've come to know and hate on the net. Conversation and humour especially flows very differently in real life talks then it does on a forum thread like this, especially one were you can't hear the tone of voice or expressions on their face.

Yeah, an overwhelming amount of our communication is actually body language and depending on how you use it you can make an entire world of difference. I recently read a very informative book about it and would recomend it to anyone that wants to learn more about it. http://www.amazon.com/The-Definitive-Book-Body-Language/dp/0553804723

It made me more selfaware of the bad habits I had in my body language.

But Ursa, I'm perpetually stuck doing this:

Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls

Look at it on the bright side: Now at last I can become Goblin King!

Labyrinth was an awesome movie and Bowie was a star - even if he has a massive crotch bulge throughout the film. I will remember him as the goblin king and always associate life on mars with him.

I never saw Labyrinth. I did hear that Bowie had to wear a cup because the midget actors kept running into his groin for some reason.

Two things:

1. The old warhammer artist, Wayne England,  has passed away.

May his amazing works outlast us all.

2. It seems that the Warseer community is planning to move to the 9th age site if their site doesn't return.

I fear that means they're going to bring all their debates and ceaseless arguments along with them and dent the 9th age's friendly atmosphere. It might not be that bad but if 9th becomes Warseer 2.0 then I don't want anything to do with it.

Isn't 9th age only warhammer fantasy? Seems odd that a 40k site would move there. If dakka dakka were to sort out their projects logs along warseer lines then there would be no need for warseer to come back. The advantage warseer had was sub-dividing the projects to make navigation easier, I've yet to find another site that does that well (althought to be fair at least here there is a separate 40k discussion/projects forum).

Lustria Online has seperate sections for WHFB (8th / 9th), AoS and KoW, though this doesn't include the building/painting blogs. But working with tags they are easy to navigate. (for obvious reasons there is missing a 40k section)

GW is sacking the Tomb Kings. This, combined with Brets and Beastmen, means that 3 factions of original WFB will kick the bucket. Oh well, at least we have Ground Marines... :icon_rolleyes:

I don't know where you get this from, but Beastmen atleast is still around in the Chaos Grand Alliance battletome and on the GW site (under a few seperate subfactions)
Brayherds & Warherds

And Bretonnia is still in the air what will happen to it. I agree the future doesn't look good, but we still need to see what will happen with the Free People

The decision to split from vampires was odd, tomb kings were always an odd army (weak), and the string aesthetic of ancient Egypt was a bit out of place for the mediaeval fantasy feel of old world.
