When it does work it's great or even better than the original in some cases, but more than often Hollywood messes things up. Ghostbusters is supposed to be a comedy and I found the trailer to be absolutely unfunny in a way that made me cringe. I guess just expected it to be more mediocre than just straight up bad and was left disappointed.
On the bright side, if the new Ghostbusters movie is one of the biggest annoyances in my life, I'm not doing too terrible at all.
I also expect everyone to also be very sceptical when they reboot Back to the Future as well.
good, or great remakes are very few and very far between.
They are normally abominations.
the trailer didn't make me laugh and I likely won't go and see it, but I also don't rever the original.
I'm not as displeased at Ghostbusters getting remade as some of the other people I know. I'm a little surprised to see just how frothing mad some people are. I'm a big fan of the original, but I have no strong feelings on it getting remade. That said I watched the trailer and just felt meh. There was nothing particularly funny. I'll probably watch it sooner or later but I'm certainly in no rush.
the film will probably suck and kristen wiig and melissa mccarthy are overplayed and annoying, but I really don't get the mouth-froth either.
I can't help but suspect ulterior motives when people get so annoyed about it.
I think that's true of most remakes.
The american version of Old Boy
Wickerman.
planet of the apes.
3 absolutely heinous remakes, off the top of my head.
Wickerman is a comedy gold. I love watching it with my buddies.
