Witch Hunter model alternative?
« on: May 07, 2012, 01:19:23 AM »
Looking at the different miniatures and came across this 40k miniature;

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1140003&prodId=prod1160013a

With a little bit of conversion to make it more fantasy (turn the eye into a patch, remove the gas tank from the gun, etc..) would make an awesome witch hunter.

Has anyone tried it?

It's been done, and done on this forum as well, though I can't remember by who. I like that model the best of the witch hunters (Not counting the limited edition one) And if I had need of one that's the one I would use.

I was looking for this the other day as well.  That 40k one is good, but if you look closely you'll see there's alot of little details that are sci-fi.

I had little luck over on the Reaper web store either.  They had a few, but they were more like wild west models.

One alternative is the Mordheim models on the GW website.  There are several there, and I think I am going to try to use this one: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat490054a&prodId=prod1120031

I think with a head swap he could look good, and he comes with lots of weapon options.

It looks like he's on a square base already.

Reaper does have one :

And if you look for Inquisitor, there a nice female witch hunter that comes up.

Well I think there are some possibilities with the hardened adventures from Wargames Foundry:

Or from the Victorian range:

I use the Highwayman from the Mordheim range. I run him as a felon who has now heard the word of Sigmar, and maybe threatened with death .....  When I heard about the Witch Hunter I wanted to use the mounted variant but never mind ........

Wow.  That one from Gorgon Studios is great!

Right now my #1 choice had been to find this guy:

However, I think the Goron Studios one is probably even better.

I won't be using him, but I've always been partial to the Warhammer Quest witchhunter model... and not only because he was my go-to choice of character for that old board game. (I was going thtough a Solomon Kane phase... Some girls that age go gaga for Austen, I was curled up in the corner with Howard. Don't judge me!)

I have that model, along with Johann and Wilhelm.
