What Are You Listening To?
« on: May 14, 2013, 03:19:11 PM »
In this thread, post a link to the music you are currently listening to. Ready? Go!

I'm listening to Imagine Dragons as I write some letters:

Whole album is actually pretty good.

this is soo good.  Even the music reflects the tone of the lyrics.  lonesome, party, leaving, lonesome, denial of being happy.

My Chemical Romance.  I don't know, I may get stick for mentioning them, but there's something about them that I just can't kick.  They feel like the type of band I shouldn't have liked but did.

Listening to S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W

Good band! I remember listening to them before they were so popular like they are now (hipster moment, sorry).

I like their song "The Gambler". No one writes ballads anymore, and I respect a band that does. - http://youtu.be/FcwVk_K5TOk

Danger Days is a great album. Really upbeat and futuristic. Not sure there's much else out there like it in concept.

Little request that people note the name of band and song so that you don't have to click every link without knowing where it's going?

Plus ot makes the ensuing conversation less confusing if you come back to it, you don't have to click every link multiple times to find out what it is about.

Merci

To try and add something useful to the thread, I have been obsessed with these guys for a long long time. Can't seem to find anyone else that likes them though. Think the voice is an aquired taste but this to me is exactly what metal should be, epic, heavy and beautiful.

I'll link an oldy and a newy. Both amazing, but quite different sound.

I just wen through a breakup, so a lot of breakup-themed stuff.  My current most played tracks are:

Payphone by Maroon 5
Maps (and lots of their other stuff) by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (late to the party, but they're very good...and the frontwoman is a hottie)
Paper Wings by Rise Against ("I can't tell if you're laughing / Between each smile there's a tear in your eye / There's a train leaving town in  an hour / It's not waiting for you, and neither am I")
So Much for My Happy Ending by Avril Livigne (yeah, yeah...make your fun)

Dead Skeletons

I was already a big fan. But my wife & I just traveled to TX for the Austin Psych Fest, and their live set was the highlight (for me.) Been listening to them even more since then. (Saw/heard a TON of good live music there, and absolutely loved Austin.)

White Blush

Heard one track on Live365, looked up the name, found her Bandcamp page & bought the whole CD download. Sort of retro-electro, really well done. One woman show if I understand correctly.

I listen to a lot of Live365 (streaming radio) so I pick up new music all the time. Just looked up Heavy Ghost on Bandcamp last night, after hearing "Radiation/Beneath the Waves," and I'm thinking about buying the 4 song download.,
