I'd love a Zone Mortalis or a Kill-Team game with a bunch of Stormtroopers, being stalked by some Necron tomb horror through a maze of dark and gloomy corridors.

Oh man sign me up for that Xath. One of the early previews talked about narrative games where you do similar things. One of the examples they gave was a kill team facing off against a never ending zombie horde, and seeing how long they could last or if they could activate some objective before being overrun.

My buddies and I were talking about a similar game based on Alien. We'd have two or three players split one kill team up amongst them, and one player with a Lictor or two stalking them through some necromunda style corridors.

Yeah, this sounds great. I'd add a bunch of enviromental hazards and maybe a couple of options to deploy Tarantula Sentry Guns and mines, and you'd have a great, claustrophobic horror games at your disposal.

I think GW recently came up with a boxed game which does exactly that... 1-4 space marines exploring a Necron tomb. No idea what models there are for the necrons, though- in fact I don't think there are any. Because everything must revolve around the Imperium, I guess...

Also finished the last wraith!

He's a big one!

So, that just leaves the cryptek (working on it...) and a unit of lychguard to finish before I'm done with the Necrons. That makes it sound like I don't like painting them- I do, its just that I have about eighty more models left in my backlog, so I'm always happy to cross some off my list .

I saw that game, but it's not a box set. It's a literal board game. They've said it has nothing to do with the table top, not really, it's just in the same setting and it's their attempt to move into other markets and attract non table top players. There's five 'models' that are really more like game pieces and they move through the board doing stuff.

I actually quite like the five models myself. Each one represents a different chapter.

That's the article! You're right, they should make for a nice Deathwatch unit, if nothing else. Unfortunately it seems the Necrons are represented with tokens, which I find a tad disappointing.

The models all came from the limited edition Space Marine set, previously only available in Japan. They're really nice looking.

Took me a while (paint delivery was almost a week late, then I injured my hand, then all kinds of health stuff happened), but I finally came back to my necrons! I went with a bit more colours this time- I felt the cryptek should stand out since he's a bit independent from the rest of the army, and then I felt like doing the lychguard in similar colours, just a bit more tied into the main army.

Anyway, let me know what you think :)!

Both in one picture! Look at all the colour!

Cryptek from the front, horribly out of focus...

Side shot, shows off the red staff a bit- a practice run for my Blood Angels...

Significantly darker back side, to keep with the main colours of the army.

Other side shot!

Lychguard! Sporting the red I'm practicing for my Blood Angels, and the yellow I'm practicing for my Knights...

Back of the lychguard!

Love the colour! Awesome. It took me awhile to notice the bug he’s riding because of the colours. I want a ride like that!

That yellow really makes it pop! Though I would suggest to get real small detals done on the rest also to tie it in with these models. As this really would make the whole army pop on the battlefield as a coherent thing.

Fully agree with the others, the yellow is amazing! The Lynchguard looks like a freaking terminator baring down on it's enemy.

Aaand we're done!

Last group of lychguard, completed!

So with the whole 1500 points of Necrons finished (only took me about a year!) I thought I'd make some group shots of the whole army put together;

Thanks for all the feedback, advice and kind words!

And with that, I'll go get started on my Imperium models. That's only like, 2000 pts of unpainted models... Might actually be done before 2021 ;)!

Wonderful look to them!  One of the more original and best Necron armies I've seen, congrats! :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool: :eusa_clap: :::cheers:::
