Thanks! I still have to paint 12 Free Company Men, 5 Pistoliers, 10 Handgunners and 5 (engineer) Huntsmen for my 2750 pints army. The tournament is at the end of May. Not much time and my motivation is low at the moment.
So it is very encouraging to get positiv feedback. Thanks for that!

You know, I've been reading this article for a while now, keeping up with it, and only just noticed the knights! Wow. That's just cool. I would love to fight that army- or, hell, just see it in real life. Come to Australia! :D

What does the banner translate to?

@Benedictus
I would love to visit Australia (I've just read a guidebook about this awesome  continent). My girlfriend and I plan to go on vacation there in the future (when time and money allows it), but I think she would kill me, if I try to play warhammer there. We will see... :wink:
I'm just fear the possibility, that some small and deadly creature will attack and bite me, as soon as I set a foot on australian ground. It seems that everything can kill you there!  :shock:  I want to see Australia nonetheless, though...

The text on the banner is latin: "Equitatus Technicus"
"Equitatus" is best translated with "Knighthood" and "Technicus" is the word for engineer in the german armybook, but it doesn't really exists in german. It is a modification of the german word "Techniker" (engineer) and sounds latin. So, I use it as the latin word for engineer.
The banner translation would be "engineer knighthood"...

So, now I stop to sound like a whippersnapper...  :wink:

Ah GREAT work Vimes, it would be cool to see this army playing a 2 on 2 game with your Empire army and a dwarf army together against some foes. ;)

Just keep an eye out for the drop bears. *snicker*

Have you read an article by Douglas Adams (yes, that Douglas Adams) on Australia? It's pretty true. I've a hard copy here, which I'll get around to typing up one day and sending you. The guts of it is that Australia's a great place to live, but you're probably gonna die. ;)

Only kidding. It's not that dangerous...it's more like Britain with less guns and more space.

And also the only place where you find poisonous lizards and the country with the most edadly sankes. But that's only in the desert.Except a few snakes that sneak by.

Just kidding. Ausi is excellent. I know a few people who live there and my aunt lives there. Eventualy I'll visit Australia.

I asked my latin flatmate what the rough equivalent of "engineer" would be in latin- he said mechanus. Just FYI, as Technicus sounds cool enough. :)

@Benedictus
Your friend is right about "mechanus", that word would be more appropriate.

I've used the word "Technicus", because GW uses it in the german empire army book, but the word does not exist in latin.
Thanks for your information, though.  :-D

I've finished my infantry men in the last weeks and participated in an tournament with my army (I will post some battle reports later).

I've posted thehighlights of the army allready, but I want to show you my progress nonetheless...

Here is my army so far:

My big swordsmen unit with both detachments:

the marksman of my pistoliers (the pic of the whole unit is too blurry):

And my engineer knights (with finished horses):

My engineer general and the huntsmen with hunting rifles still wait for their completion.

the secret megamac, is only count the people that you are better than.   :winky:

the other secret is that its better to have a craptacular painted army than not to have a painted army at all.  It allows you to mercilessly mock the unprimed masses.   :tongue:
