The lance i tried to get looking like it was a glossy painted over metal style , with some nice metal gashes across it showing etc

there is nothing better than a nice heavy model IMO!

Finew*nk is bendy and nasty
Point taken, but when I am tired and hungry I am too lazy to carry around several kilos of metal models - but maybe that's just me.....

Anyone got any advice on stripping metals? I want to repaint my greatswords.

I'm just trialling some paint remover purchased via B & Q , will let you know after 48 hours !

Brake fluid I was previously using  is mediocre to rubbish on metal, but better on plastic ,

Give acetone a try, it's what I use for stripping metal models. Works like a charm.

If you user acetone...beware of its potential health affects...and flammability... ::heretic::  make sure you have EXCELLENT ventilation...as it will destroy your frontal lobe.

If you can get ahold of Simple Green...its a cleaning product...it will take paint off of metal very nicely and is earth...and gamer...friendly.

Cheers,

Is it the B&Q value stuff? Thats what I use and its bloody awesome. Not quite as good as Nitromors but less than half the price. Needs a good clean with a toothbrush afterwards though and can't be used on plastic as you end up with a pile of goo.

Like the battle damage on the lances, CW.  Though, when I squint to hide the scrapes and scratches, its amusing to see them as giant jousting light-sabers too.  :icon_biggrin:

Hi, I like the result you achieved on the armor with the turquoise wash. It's really nice but I don't know how much it fits the model. I think that it is too decadent for a miniature like that. It's an imperial knight with colored feathers on a really colorful horse, I think he takes care of his armor and avoid it deteriorating like that. I would see that effect more on some Undead or Chaos knight than on shiny imperial noblemen...
But that's my opinion, and the painting stays spectacular no matter what!! Great Job
