It is very unlikely any character will ride a monstrous mount because of the complexities of the additional wounds; the advantage gained by a Demigryph would simply be the attacks of the mount. Have ANY army book had the option to put a character on the back of a monstrous mount?
like a captasus you mean?

Fair point - but that is a legacy. In any case, my question was poorly phrased (for which I apologize); have army books had the option to put a character on a montrous mount which is found in the rank-and-file unit entries? That is, is there an option to put a character in a unit of monstrous cavalry mounted on the same sort of animal, or is it a fudge?

Personally, I would LOVE to see characters on MC and I don't think it would be too difficult to work it out - use the highest of the two W characteristics? How does it work for Pegasus? BUT it might end up being expensive to fit a character on there if the W bonus is lesser. There was a discussion thread that a Demigryph would be worth about 55pts to a character - you could get a whole other DGK for a little more, right?

I think you pay 50ish points for a demonic mount.

You use the lower Toughness and this makes Eagle riders of the Elves less awesome than Pegasus riders.

You use the higher of the 2 wounds profiles and the rider's toughness I believe.

Honestly, 45-50-ish (45 naked, 50 with barding maybe) is probably right around the right number for a character's demigryph mount.  That means the rider is worth roughly 10 points in the unit, which seems pretty fair.

Did you see your Captain on the GW site  the other day?

Darius has been getting plaudits, but that's two members now   :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:

Edit:
I cannot find it now - someone linked to it the other day, but I don't think they realised it was Chumley's as his real name was used.
However it may have been older than I thought.
It was the large captain with sword and shield.

I half finished my first one last night. A bit of highlighting and he's done.

And it only took me double the time to get half as far as you did.

I'm quite happy that GW included me.

It's a small bit of recognition.

Would they believe me if I told them that the Mordheim Freelancer Knights took me 90 minutes though?

Trouble is with all those paints now gone, you'll have to go to Vallejo or some other Co. and try to match-up shades if you still want to use the old-style colours and not all these new ones GW just came out with...

Oh, and why is the textbox going off the page on the right?!

Love the demigryph!  Looking forward to the whole unit.  Any chance you picked up the griffon kit?  Really nice...

Also, props for making the GW page!
